If you are ready to pay $200 plus for electricity every month, this is the place for you

We have been residents at Lake side north for over 3 years now. And here are the summary of what we think:
1. Rent is about average for this area, there are other places more expensive, although they increase the rate every year, it's still not that terrible.
2. Safety. It's pretty safe in PG county, there is a police station in front of the community and the residents here are usually normal people, a lot of them are students at the university, so as far as safety goes you don't need to worry, I can walk my dog at midnight (well not too far from my building) and not worrying about getting robbed.
3. Parking is.......a beeeeoootch in this community, very little extra space for additional cars, and each unit is assigned only 1 space, so the second car has to park in the visitor spot, and there are not that many visitor spots, so it's a real annoyance.
4. Service, usually the repair team is pretty quickly and response fast enough if it's an emergency, and it has been like this ever since I lived here, and they have not been affected by the change of manager.
5. A/C and Heat. This is a total disaster. and you don't have to believe anything else I said so far, but you got to trust me on this one. we have been having A/C problems ever since we moved here, but the problem just got worse. Now I am paying 200-250 a month during summer time, and 40-50 in winter, This is totally unacceptable ! At first I thought my A/C is broke, but I ask the maintenance people to check and they say the AC is fine, I then call my friend who is an skilled electrician, and it turned out that the AC was made in 1956 ! THAT'S EVEN OLDER THAN MY MOTHER ! it's working fine but since it's super old, it has hardly any efficiency, that's why our bill is sky high ! And of course the manager would not do anything about it, wouldn't install new AC new units and does not show any interest of fixing the problem....He is very young and inexperience, and I wouldn't mind to have a young manager if he is enthusiastic about what he does, and is willing to fix the problem, but from what I experienced, it's not his age, but he is just not attentive to the residents' needs, thus unsuitable for this position.
6. Windows, I guess a lot of people have been complaining about the heat problem, so they decide to put new windows to keep the hot/cold air from escaping. The workers need to have access to windows in the living room and bedroom, and the manager has given us 2 DAYS of notice to move the stuff around, and they need at least 5' of space, are you kidding me' the apartment isn't so big to begin with, and if I move 5' where am I going to sleep'
Totally inconsiderate of the residents ! I would not recommend you live here, but if you have to for the location, then be mentally prepared of the bad management style that will get you every so often ! 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

I have lived here for 4 years and I would agree with most of this poster. One caveat is that the reason for the ac/heat discrepancy is that gas is included in rent. So, there are 2-4 months of high electricity, but the $40-50 (have had it as low as $25) in the winter balances. Also, what he said about management is true. The new manager really does not care about residents, has zip personality and is driving away residents.
