It's an old place, and the only great looking structure is the modern looking leasing office. Everything else is subpar. If only the real apartments looked half as good as the models, it wouldn't be so bad. Besides the old look, the surrounding area is also bad. People do car maintenance in the parking lots (typically a no-no everywhere). As for the parking, it can be hit-or-miss. Typically you will get a space, depending on the time of day. If you get home late at night, you end up parking a bit of a walking distance at another unit.
For some reason, people use my balcony (I live below ground level) for dumping. I'm always finding rags, empty motor oil containers, knick-knacks, etc.
There are cockroaches galore, despite the bi-annual spraying for the units (cockroaches have almost always been immune to all poisons, anyway). My goldfish appreciates the roaches better than I do; I occassionally use them as fish food, and they're eaten while they're alive. That's a great solace, no'
Noise level can be bad, both from outside and surrounding units. Drivers just don't understand when they're honking for someone to come out, EVERYONE else hears it, and it's VERY LOUD!
Hearing police sirens roaring by almost every night is a bit disconcerting and occasionally you'll receive bulletins from the office of recent criminal activity in their area.
Aside from the local school, the "community" is a joke, with an overpriced convenience store and a so-so Chinese take-out -- prices are inexpensive, but food is fairly mediocre. When the cashier is behind a thick bulletproof partition like you see in banks, you know this place isn't exactly a haven.
Even though I co-signed a lease with a roommate, these people are vultures when it comes to rent. I always pay my rent on time, but one time THEY lost the check and wanted to evict and use legal action (very "threatening" letter from leasing offce, summons from sheriff's office to appear in court). The office blamed me, and only me for it (all correspondence had just my name on it, instead of both my roommate and me!). It was eventually straightened out, but not before they slapped me with a non-negotiable $100 late fee for THEIR mistake. "Non-negotiable," as in, I was "SOL" no matter how well I was able to articulate my case concerning the missing rent. They treated me like some sort of common criminal with a career of dodging payments. They also threatened that my credit rating would take a major hit the next time the rent was "unpaid."
Don't live here. Don't live in Greenbelt, for that matter. BuLYzGcKAVo8MQPlcXJq
