I was foolish enough to put a refundable deposit down with SHL and then I came and read this webpage and realized I need to find a new place! Now, they refuse to give me my money back. I informed them only 24 hours after placing the deposit which is well in advance of the 48 hour cutoff. I have called multiple times and keep getting the run-around. I am probably going to have to take them to court to get my money. DO NOT GIVE THEM A DEPOSIT! If you think you want to live here, put the deposit on a credit card and then if they won't give you your money back you still have 60 days to dispute the charge. AIMCO has a terrible staff, they are either so incompetent that they should be fired, or they are dishonest and intentionally trying to steal my money.

Sorry you had to experience this. Unfortunately they want a deposit on a cashier's check or a money order. After waiting in that long line just for someone to address your issue they will take forever to get you a refund AIMCO does suck! Hopefully your situation will be resolved to your satisfaction. Hey for future readers believe me don't move here. If you don't want to take my advice just take 30 minutes and sit in the rental office. You will hear a whole lot of complaints.
