I have never personally had mice, or felt unsafe, but I do plan to give as honest of an opinion that i can to help future residents. i have lived here going on a year in a half. My first problem started upon arrival, i had no heat in the dead of winter for 2 weeks. Their mantenance staff is the worst, they come to work to get a check and thats it(the young guys in way some of the older ones are competent) it took them that long to figure the furnace heat unit was completely broke. Then as it got warm i had a horrible time with ants taking over my kids room. After that i continued having problems with heat and air. Then a girl i knew who lived on the property her apartment was destroyed when young guys decided to shhot it up from bedroom to balcony. Springhill lake refused to relocate her or refund her money. Now more people i know are trying to vacate property due to roach infestation and a rodent trapped in the walls (yes i said rodent believed to be a racoon)and they are getting no cooperation from the staff. Some of the staff is nice but some of them are ghetto as hell and come to work to pass the time. So in conclusion they have the best prices and remember every where has there promlems, but think long and hard make sure its right for you and if you do choose it stay on the out skirts of the property breezewood dr, cherrywood lane, and edmonston less crime police patrol it a lot more. Just trying to help someone becuse no one gave me the heads up

I cannot for the life of me figure out why you would reccomend this place to anyone, It is not even fit for a stray dog to stay there !!!

Maybe you should have gone to this website prior to moving in? At least your being honest about the living in SHL. I don't know why you would recommend it because the cost is not that inexpensive for having to deal with so much mess.

Well, I appreciate your info! I am a single, professional mother, with two (elementary) school aged children. I was looking to move into the property last spring, and was not approved (for whatever reason). I came upon unbearable living conditions at my current resident (another apartment complex in riverdale), and this time after being urged by a friend of mine who is a current resident (of 3 mos) at SHL, I was approved. I am very happy about being able to live where I wanted to be in the first place. I understand there are problems, but that's everywhere. The only other option is to buy your own property. Even with that you have problems, from your neighbors to your community association, etc. SHL is relatively affordable for the location, depending on your income level and what you are looking for in a community. To pay any less is to ask for a bigger headache in apartment living, and if you're willing to pay more, maybe it's time to explore home-ownership. Researching is very necessary, as I am doing now. So, thank you for your this valuable information. Just to let you know, it is helping THIS apartment shopper make a decision. I will take your advice, because now I know from which areas to choose. Once again, I appreciate you!

I POSTETD THIS REVIEW MONTHS AGO AND SOME DID NOT AGREE SO TO EACH THEIR OWN. BUT PERSONALLY I LOVE MY NEW APARTMENT IN SHL BUT THE SHOOTING AND DEAD BODIES ALONG WITH THE CAR BREAK INS IS BECOMING REDICULOUS. WE RESIDE ON BREEZEWOOD COURT AND THEY LITERALLY SHOOT RIGHT OUTSIDE MY KIDS BEDROOM WINDOW IF IT WERE NOT FOR THESE JOBLESS, IN CONSIDERATE LOW LIVES I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ALL MY FRIENDS BECAUSE SHL LAKE IS NOT THE PROBLEM NICE COMMUNITY LIVING CONDITIONS ARE FINE 2 ME I KNOW OF SOME WITH ROACHES AND MICE BUT REMEMBER YOULL HAVE WHAT UR DIRTY NEIHBORS HAVE AND IT IS OK TO COMPLAIN TO THEM AND THE OFFICE BUT LIKE IO SAID IT IS THE PEOPLE BRINGING SHL DOWN AND IF THEY READ THIS PLEASE REMEMBER THAT EVERYONE DESERVES A NICE SAFE I'LL REPEAT SAFE PLACE TO LIVE AND TO RAISE THEIR CHILDREN AND IF GREENBELT POLICE COULD GET THERE JOBS DONE SHL WOULD BE JUST FINE IN MY EYES THATS ANOTHER HONEST NONE BIASED STATEMENT SO COME AND LIVE VERY REASONABLE JUST GET A CAR ALARM AND KEEP A BAT OR OTHER FORM OF PROTECTION IF YOUR A SINGLE FEMALE AND ESPECIALLY IF YOU HAVE CHILDREN BE CAREFUL ;)
