Ok if you don't mind slum lords

Expect office staff to be the worst office staff you have ever dealt with. They are stupid, lazy, and avoid work at all costs. The worst is the manager, Lisa. She will rip you off at every turn.
Maintenance seems to mean well, but don't expect much from them. Often, you must diagnose the problem yourself and cajole them into fixing it. At worst, you have do to fix it yourself.
The property is beset by many habitual problems (e.g., outdoor flooding that threatens rental units; low quality appliances and fixtures that break frequently; most frequent power outages of any place I've ever lived).
The walls and floors have little (any') insulation--so you hear and smell the everyday lives of your neighbors. Great for that warm, community feel! You'll know what time your neighbors wake in the morning, what they're cooking, and what they're watching on TV. Instant best friends!
Another pain is the constant spraying for bugs. Often (and literally, I mean often, like monthly) you are required (and if not, you can be fined) to remove EVERYTHING from the kitchen cabinets and pantry. It's like getting to play "moving" every month! And everyone LOOOOOVES moving, right' Oh, and those notices sent by the "helpful" office staff alerting you to events like bug-spraying are backdated by at least a few days from when you actually receive them...
In sum, the unit itself is not terrible. It has more space than most in the area, and it is convenient to the C2 bus line. Essentially, the aspects the management office does not have control over are at least average--but anything management has responsibility for will be at least sub par.
Oh, and factor in your security deposit as money spent--ain't no way you're seeing a dime of it when you go to move out, regardless of if you return the unit to them in better condition than when you moved it. Sayonora dinero!
