I am currently residing at Gwynn Oaks Landing. I ttok the time to read some of the reviews before writing my own and I must say that I truely AGREE! This is not the place to live. I personally have not had too bad of a problem with mice. I can say that I have seen just 1 since I have been here 3/06. What I can say I have had a problem with is ROACHES and I am not a dirty person. The biggest problem is that they will only send an exterminator out on Mondays's and when he comes, he doesnt spray. He uses some type of glue or ointment that he only puts in the kitchen! Uh HELLO...the roaches are all over, not just in the damn kitchen! If you havent been home when he comes, you wouldnt think that he was there at all. Not to mention that he doesnt even have keys to all the units he's supposed to exterminate and is too lazt to go to the leasing office to get them so he hangs a tag on the door that's marked' "NO KEY" when the leasing office is a 2 minute walk away. I have alsao had a problem with sewage. Sewage backed up in kitchen sink one Friday afternoon and I could not use it. I called the leasing office and made them aware, they told me that it was not considered an emergency and someone would more than likely be out on Monday b/c it was late in the afternoon! WHAT KIND OF ---- IS THAT!! Then I think that the food that i put in the garbage disposal eventually drains into the beat up,old and dirty dishwasher that I dont use b/c every once in a while the odor in the kitchen is funky and when I open up the dishwasher, the smell bangs you in the face. Now if i dont use it, how can that be'''
About a week and 1/2 ago, me and my 5 yr old son were home on a Subday night, there were police/swat team or something outside on the PA system asking a man to come out of apartment with his hands up, faces backwards and moving slowly. This went on for about an hour if not longer. There were helicoptors and all. I could could clearly hear everything being said to the man as if they were standing right next to me (windows aint ----). Finally, he must have come out b/s a few minutes later they were firing shots and it was over, but I dont know what happened. I was damn scared though. Do you think the officer mngr Ms Melanie sent anything to the residents about that or did anything to try to assure our safety'' HELL TA DA NAW! We heard nothing about it at all.
The teenagera all over the place and the police are frequently seen patroling this complex very often. Uniformed and plain clothes officers too. I am not renewing my lease would not receommend this place to anyone after my personal experience here. A lot to think about!
