My boyfriend used to live in a first floor apt. in the building 1020. The parking is good and the people are friendly. They say hi to you and it is generally quiet and nicely kept up. He lived in a 1Br. Junior apt. which was the perfect size for him. There is a wide closet in the bathroom and a small pantry next to the kitchen which you have a space of 3x3 foot squared and maybe two feet of counter space. The cabinets are dark brown metal with a wood pattern and a little beat up but otherwise provide a good amount of storage. The maintenance are very good people. They do yearly checks of the a/c's and there was only one woman in the office that he didn't like but otherwise they were very nice. We didn't see any mice but he also had two cats. He lived there a few years ago. We got sprickets sometimes and those pinching bugs that came through the a/c. The a/c window unit was pretty new and so was the carpet. There was some water damage on the ceiling in the bathroom but otherwise it was an ok apt. He ended up getting robbed at knife point (his OWN collectible knife!) by some people living in the apt. complex and up the street. They planned it when they befriended them and he let them in to chill in his apt. They stole my laptop also!! They broke back in later while he stayed at a friends place, through the window to get the rest. One or two of them were later arrested and our stuff really was never recovered. He knew they would have killed him but they didn't since the girl told them not to. So, I say all of this to warn anybody moving into this place. By day it is nice, bright and the people are nice. A word of advice is....don't walk around alone at night, don't let anyone into your apt. that you don't already know and don't walk down the paths, especially if you're a girl. It is down the street from a Shoppers and a Foreman Mills and various other grocery/eateries and gas stations. There is even a laundromat on the corner if you're too nervous about using the one in the building. He had one in his building but he was so broke we ended up washing and drying sheets and his clothes in his bathroom - there is a laundry string built into the bathtub. So, I would recommend it for a student, single person but no one with kids and just all around cautious people.
