Awful Service

I have lived in a 2 bedroom townhome at Colony Hill for almost a year. Thankfully my lease is up soon and I will be moving as far away from this dump as possible. The community is a great place to live as long as your home is not in need of repairs, but it probably will be.

I lived here for about 6 months with very few problems and then my shower began leaking through the ceiling in my kitchen. The maintenance people came out the day I called, but fixed nothing and did not check to see if they had fixed the problem before leaving. After this, subsequent calls took 2 to 3 weeks to be completed. Your best bet is to let the apartment manager know anything, even if you speak to the maintenance people, because the apartment manager will send someone to your apartment that day, whereas the maintenance people will tell you someone will be out, but you may not see anyone for weeks. If at all. We spent over 2 months after the third time the maintenance people came to fix our shower with it continuing to leak. Maintenance knew of the problem and never came out.

After we finally got the problem fixed (it took many months), another plumbing problem sprouted up 2 weeks later. Water from our shower was coming up in our kitchen sink. Someone was sent to snake the drain. We were informed that there were roots impeding our sewage system, but nothing was done to repair this. The snaking worked for about a week, then it happened again. This time, they came out, snaked the drain again and it seemed to be fixed. This was yesterday and I just took a shower and found the problem has recurred. We have been informed by maintenance that they will be sending someone out tonight to snake the drain again. That's it. No further efforts to fix the problem when it has clearly not been fixed. And every time this has happened, who do you think has been responsible for cleaning up the water' The residents. Not once has anyone offered us even extra towels to help with the problem that they have not fixed. Currently our kitchen is swimming in too much water to be soaked up by all of the towels currently in our house. This place is ridiculous.

I had another friend who lived in a different unit where they had to dig up her back yard and move her out of the apartment for 2 days because she had actual sewage (toilet water, feces, etc.) coming up through her kitchen sink. The place is completely falling apart, and I don't think it will get any better until someone sues, or something bad happens in one of the units.

On the positive side, the current apartment manager (Stephanie) is very nice and helpful, and the area is a nice place to live with lots of good takeout places that deliver.

Hopefully if you decide to move here you won't get stuck living next to a house with a million college students living in it who will take all the parking spaces, requiring you to park extremely far away, if you come home later than 8 pm.

Oh, also, the rent is increasing, so if you choose to live here, you'll pay more than I do.
