well, im going to start off by saying i signed a lease here after christmas at the end of dec. i came from northern va. which i lived there for 24 years in fairfax county. i have leased for many years and coming from a certain way of growing up, i have champagne taste but can only afford a nice middle to upper middle class life style myself. i am picky about where i live and try to find one of the best communities. in northern va. i lived at a leasing community right by dulles airport. it was built and owned by toll brothers and i moved there in 2002 when my building was brand new towards the end of their construction. i lived there for almost 5 years and was really happy about everything moving in there, and now ill get to moving here. with my job i had to transfer and driving all that way seemed too long, so i searched for a place in this part of maryland and howard co. ect... finding it very difficult to find a place like i was used to living. i needed a place to call home that allowed pets because i have a dog. i was used to having an attached private garage but atleast needed to be in a good community because i have two nice cars that i didnt want to worry about vandalism. i was used to having a security system in my home , a jacuzzi brand soaking tub upgraded carpet with upgraded padding, crown molding and chair rail, gas fire place, tiled foyer and bathroom, not lanolyum floors there, chandalier in dining room area, more square footage, tennis courts , ect.. ect.. along with a warm staff that was thankful to have the residents they had there , with the thoughtfulness to the fact that the places were the peoples homes while they leased, and the construction was of quality, all combined made truly a home and one with some true luxury that made a nice community, the staff having a nice part to do with the fact that the neighbors got to know each other and made some friends having cookouts and dogs playing together, ect... i thought i might be able to find atleast some of the same things here when i saw that this was a brand new community that looked appealing to the eye at first glance. Reality is that i have met some nice neighbors here, but i cant say much good about anything else. it is new so ofcourse things are going to have some appeal, like the clean feel and overall look, and the lighting is nice, the 2 panel doors are nice, but that does not mean its good quality. IT IS AWFUL CONSTRUCTION. IM PAYING FOR SOMETHING THAT FEELS LIKE IM RENTING A BEDROOM IN A HOUSE WITH ALL MY NEIGHBORS!!!!! I HERE EVERYTHING ALL AROUND ME!!!THERE IS NO PRIVACY HERE!!!HINT HINT!!!! i here my neibor conversations , when they shut the doors in their house or their microwave oven door, every room they walk in, their music and or t.v. and WHEN THEY GO TO THE BATHROOM and flushing and shower, and my hot water heater tank or something in the same closet is loud where it reminds me of something ive seen in a movie where someone is staying in a cheap motel and its noisy. Why isnt there a real wall seperating the homes here. im so glad in a way that i rented here, so i know more and now i wont ever buy bozzuto, and this will be it for me renting from bozzuto also. THE CRIME and discomfort feeling here is not something i have been used to. which brings me to the staff here. my leasing agent was cold and does not have professional people skills. I had regrets right after signing my lease. that bad feeling that i tried to ignore thinking that its just because of adjusting to change. there was no sense of warmth but i kept my smile on in the lesing office and tried to be friendly and getting a feel for the place and as i asked the leasing agent that lives here how she likes it and basically how the neighborhood is, this was her response quote on quote " that i would have to go to the police station for that information" which gave me a funny feeling why a leasing agent wasnt more welcoming and freindly conversation. i thought to myself, why so business like about the money with straight face and cold, suggested to me then, she had no reguard and thoughtfulness to people, but i said nothing as i sat there with hesitation and still smiling ,thinking to myself i had already given her my money, thinking should i back out. which i even had to pay for the last few days of dec. even though i could not move in because they had just painted the railing going up the outside stairs and all the front doors, ect.. unless i wanted paint all over my furniture.when i commented on that, she did nothing about it.so even though i could not move in yet, i still had to pay for the place an extra couple hundred dollars on top of my jan. rent for nothing. then i went to move in in jan. and had also rented a private garage in my lease as well because i needed some storage space along with one of my cars. she had told me the garage was attached to the stairwell of my building when i had originally asked about any attached private garages, so i accepted it in the lease i signed. well in jan. i still could not move my stuff here yet because the garage she gave me didnt go to my building, when i said to her there has been a mistake, she lied and said she didnt tell me my garage attached to the stairwell of my building, which was important to me, for one , being that im a single female pulling in at night, ofcourse as well as convience.at that point it was principal and morals that she didnt seem to have at that moment. How would i have known that the garage attached to the stairwell signing the lease if she had not told me, plus i had a witness there as well when signing the lease, and here comes another leasing agent as i asked for all my money back, and she is asking me if there is a problem, and clearly sticking by the other agent, and saying she didnt know if i could get my money back , to back out of the lease. then the agaent tells me a garage will be available in just a couple of weeks, so i stalled my move in further having all ready paid for everything, there was no concern to give me any rebait. no concern for me at all, seeing as though two weeks turned into feb. move in for me, is when i finally got the garage, after i called and called and called........all previous money went to bozzuto for nothing, and no sorry or anything, only a brush off, except when the leasing agent called me again wanting more money because i had not got the 100,000.00 insurance policy for the year. which she called my mom, which was emergency contact only person i put down on my lease. As soon as i got a maryland phone i called my mom, who had been worrying about me for days. that was messed up for this agant to call my emergency contact over my lease insurance and then post a letter on my door saying that if i didnt have the insurance by that following monday they would go through the courts.they know where i live. why didnt i get a letter before everything else took place. a nice letter and not calling my emergency contact would have been nice, seeing as though i live right here.second of all its my lease, and EMERGENCY CONTACT IS EMERGENCY CONTACT!!!BUT I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE HAD RENTERS INSURANCE FOR THIS PLACE BEFORE I ACTUALLY MOVED IN ALSO>AS IF I HAD NOT WASTED ENOUGH MONEY HERE!!!!!! about TRASH VALET, this should be a choice first of all, but its signed with the lease as well, but i have not yet used the service since i have moved in here and i will not ever use it. but i am paying for it. but if we all dont want the service dont use it.eventually it will have to change then. people get things done in numbers. its up to all of us residents to have the community we want, and the office staff needs to stop having an attitude and start being thankful for the people leasing here.afterall they are there to supply service to the residents and OUR HOMES!!!!its not their homes!!! they need to show the reguard for the residents, with some staff members, this is so lacking.as far as all the crime, all of us paying out all of the money we are paying out, need to look out for each other . as far as the lack of walls seperating the homes, there is nothing we can do about that other than try to be thoughtful and respectful of each other with noise,as much as we can atleast, and trying to have some comfort in our day to day life. i say take all the security measures we want. feel free, if anyone else has any ideas . another thing when i was signing my lease that struck me the wrong way, when i was saying how the community looked nice and asked about her getting to meet alot of nice people being that she lived here too, she said " everyone is nice at first" in a negative tone. Maybe certain office staff personnel needs to be truthful and evaluate why that is . Not all leasing communities are like this, there are indeed much better ones, with some luxury and same price range. its a shame that here, we do not get what we pay for.it seems that so many leasing communities call themselves luxury, when only a very few are true luxury. luxury is of good quality and im sorry to say that bozzuto didnt build these of good quality. 3mPoZ6gGN6wTPgNi4L2C

I have to agree with you on the staff. Was the rude one the thick girl with brown hair? She has serious problems. It may be because the cookies are always taken by the residents. People really do not understand what customer service is. They do not know what it's like to cater to the needs of the residents. A huge part of business is seeing repeat customers, as in renewing their leases. Repeat customers mean excellent service. I guarantee majority of the people here will not renew their lease. Turnover will be huge. This all boils down to the staff and their lack of respect. I'm not sure if anyone from Bozutto reads this site, but they need to definitely make changes in their hiring process. Like many things in Maryland, companies hire people who think of it as a job and NOT a career. So sad since plenty of people here are paying hard earned money for this thinking that this is the "best" out there. Trust me when I say there are PLENTY of better "communities" worth your money.

I totally agree regarding the staff comments that they are cold, rude, and arrogant except for Patrick the Community manager and Jill, all the rest are a bunch of @#$%^&!!. Most of the places I stayed the personnels are warm, approchable, helpful and treat you as a customer. Here they thought they are the customers. Start changing your acts and drop your attitude.

I want to clarify something-- I'm an attorney and there is something called "Fair Housing Laws". The leasing consultants CAN NOT tell prospects any issues about crime and can not even say the word "safety" or "secure". That is why this leasing consultant referred you to the local police dept because IT IS AGAINST THE LAW to give out that info. NOT because there is crime there.

I just read this and find it very interesting because i happened to be in the office on a day where i saw a girl asking for her money back after signing a lease, i heard her say that she needed the garage to move in, and the leasing agent saying she didnt tell her it attached to the stairwell, i also saw the other lesing agent come up and say she didnt think you could get all your money back. if this review is by the same person that i saw in the office that day. I wanted to tell you that they had to by law give you your money back. After reading this, im so sorry that i didnt walk up to you and inform you of that. i cant believe that they didnt reimburse you some of your money atleast. You were alot more nice than i would have been , im sorry to hear that you paid for a lease for that amount of time and could not move in. They clearly took advantage of you. I have noticed that some of the staff here has absolutely no reguard for the residents. that is where the problems here are coming from. This attorney should have informed you that you had every right to get your money back, since knowing the "Fair Housing Laws". Again, i am sorry to hear about everything you went through. Anyone thinking about being a resident in this community needs to be very weary of some staff members here.

I had a verbal run in with one of the staf. I said something under my breath that I later regreted, she heard me, and I apologized. The reason I got verbal, was because she gave me the run around, talked over me, while I was sitting, in an apartment that was 95 degrees. For One week, workers were suposed to come and hang a fan. Becasue of the hours I work, I had asked that they come first thing in the AM so I could go to sleep. They never showed. I would call over and over and over again. About the heat. The lack of service. And, ultimatly, I was tired, hot, and frustrated. Her tone was not kosher, and I said something terrible. Now? Talk about being treated unfairly. We broke our lease, and we are moving out tomarrow, and not once have they returned our calls for the final walk through. We get snotty service when we drop off rent, no one ever calls us back, and I have been paying with crappy service over one word, that I already felt bad about. Maturity does not go a long way here.
