Just ignore the promises

Definitely think twice before deciding to sign a lease here. My husband and I just moved here and we had to make a decision quickly about where to live. This is a gorgeous community, and it practically sells itself. The prices are much higher than we wanted to pay, but they had a good special going, and we decided it would be worth the money to get a brand new place. We have a brand new apartment that no one has ever lived in before, yet on day one of moving in there were brown stains on the white carpet, and a huge dried urine puddle in the master bathroom. Nice. I really enjoyed cleaning up some strangers urine off of my "brand new" bathroom floor while I was also doing the small task of moving my home across the country.

I let that and a bunch of other things go because I didn't want to think that I had made a bad decision about where to live. But I have seriously had it with Bozutto, and since they really don't care in the office, this is the only place we residents have to voice our concerns. A few things to note before you sign here. If they promise you ANYTHING when they are giving you a tour, get it in writing. There is a pool here that opens next month and I asked the leasing consultant when she was showing me around "are guests allowed, because my parents live in the area and we'd like to have them over to swim", she said "oh yes, you can have as many guests as you like as often as you like". I was surprised at the lenient policy, but I foolishly took her word for it. Now today we get a notice in the door that the pool opens in a few weeks and that each apartment will receive "one complimentary one day guest pass". Are you kidding me''' So actually, ANYTIME you want to have ANYONE that doesn't live with you use the pool, they have to purchase a guest pass, and there is a limit of 4 guests. Freakin ridiculous. If that was the rule, fine, it's not that unreasonable--but just tell me upfront. Don't lie to my face to get me to sign.

They also promised "loaner mountain bikes" for you to use on the trails around the community. I called to ask about them the other day and someone finally called me back and said "yeah, I brought it up at our meeting, and we are considering it". Thanks, good to know you guys are thinking about doing something you promised. They also tell you all about the "car wash center" which right now is a white wooden archway that you can park your car under. No hose, no soap, no air pump...great car wash center. If you ask the office about it they will tell you it will be up very soon. Seriously, they will say anything to get you to sign, and then once your name is on that piece of paper their attentions go right back to sales to the next potential customer.

To be fair, these are beautiful apartments, like I said they sell themselves, which is why it frustrates me that they lie like crazy and then don't deliver once you have signed the lease. So just make sure if you do sing a lease here that you get all of their promises in writing because I'm sure if you go to the office later and call them on it they will say "we never promised that". I would seriously consider the fact that this apt complex has a recommendation rating of 28%. Good luck with your apartment search, I hope this is a helpful review.

Nothing will change because they truly don't care. They'll get people to lease all the time and then have to provide nothing. The leasing agents get paid more if people leave and they get a new lease than if someone renews their lease. Someone needs to stand outside the community and hold up a sign saying "CHECK APARTMENTRATINGS.COM!" Or, at least, stop tours and tell them the truth. Don't you wish they did for you?

this is another example of the fact that bozzuto cares about bozzuto, staff is a team, and one of which is the opposite from residents. they will protect themselves no matter what. It is all about what they can get from people, and nothing else. they have no care about the residents when they should. I think I can speak for all the residents when i say, " We dont care about the fake smile when we hand you our payment for our homes,or the empty words on the letters you post on our doors saying our safety is your priority when another crime takes place,.............. WE CARE ABOUT ACTIONS! It would be nice for the residents to be treated the same way i would think the staff wants to be treated. Thoughtfulness to the fact that these are peoples homes and their lives. To some staff members here........."HAVE SOME INTEGRITY!" We understand this is all about business for you, but doing right for people can be accomplished at the same time. Could you imagine how staff of bozzuto would be in any crisis a resident has here? i guess you can, with the lies and their self motives.
