We've had so many problems with this apartment it is ridiculous. First of all, it is dead of winter, and we have NO heat. And I don't mean that it's been like this for a day or week, it's been like this the entire time this apartment has been occupied (almost 2 years). They say that they are going to fix the boiler, which means they know there's a problem, but they have yet to fix it. Maintenence comes when they feel like it. All the fuses in my apartment went out, leaving me in the dark with my 1 year old grandson, and if it hadn't been for my significant other being cool with the staff, I was told that they wouldn't have shown up at all because it was after office hours. The maintenance guy TOLD me this himself and then laughed. I didn't think it was funny. The grounds are unkept, unless the owner of the facility is coming to visit. Management is horrible. The office manager is underqualified and the property manager is an a-hole. My apartment was broken into, in broad daylight which will tell you about how secure this place is, and they are charging me for fixing my locks. The law states they are responsible for fixing them since I was a victim of burglary, but the manager (Robert Thatcher) said he didn't care what the law says and until the fee for the locks gets paid, he will not be providing us with any services. He told us to not get locked out or need any maintenance done because he will not do it (which is also against the law). He also tried to trick us into paying the fee by telling us we owed them that exact amount in leftover rent. We told him we had a receipt saying that our rent is paid in full, which shocked him because their office DOES NOT give you a receipt when you pay your rent, even if you ask for one. We've only had two incidents with pests, both were mice. I was also surprised to find out that the majority of the complex is section-8, so you get a wide variety of different neighbors. The kids are out at all hours as long as the weather permits. The apartments themselves are nice, so I will at least say that about Ager Road, but I would not suggest you move there because management treats you like crap.

I am on Section * my self and I can tell you this much most of the time you can't stereotype base on that, you can't really think that all people that are under certain assistance behave in particular manner. Sometiems (and some people not all)tend to be broken down in spirit by situation such as yours and develope a tendency to not care. Because of those people Ager Road management does whatever they feel like. As for the aparment, I can honestly tell you that you apartment may be in good conditions precisecly because you are not under assistance, if you were under the conditions am in, I can guarany you that you aparment would resemble abox where homeless sleep at night. I'm currently living at these apartments and would like to collect reviews such as yours and signatures along the complex to send them to the fair housing department, and PG Health Department, you may not know this but 95% of the property is pest infested. If interested please reply

I didn't stereotype based on the fact that people are section 8. I just said you get a wide variety of neighbors. That's not to say there's anything wrong with people on section 8, my nicest neighbors are on section 8 (and Robert has tried to trick them into moving by telling them their section 8 has been revoked when in reality he was lying through his teeth). I just mentioned it because I didn't realize that there were so many section 8 tenants there. And Robert likes it that way because he feels like it's guaranteed rent payment every month. So he treats his full paying residents just the same, even worse, than those on section 8! I'm still dealing with Robert trying to charge me for my still broken front door. He's threatening, again, to evict me because I contacted the housing authority on him who promptly fined him for not fixing my door. Now he's trying to say that I'm months behind in my rent, when I have a receipt from his office manager proving otherwise. I've heard a lot of complaints about Lorraine, but I feel sorry for her because she has to put up with Robert's crap and take the blame for every problem and complaint from the residents because he makes HER sign all of the paperwork. If you get to know her (crack references or not), you'll find that she can be a great ally in the fight against Robert. He is a bigot, and he DOES NOT OWN THAT PROPERTY, although he likes to say he does. They lie about the actual name of property management so you can't complain about their practices. Yes, the staff can be lazy, but you would be too if your boss was an ------- who never paid you on time. As far as pests, I haven't had any problems with them since my last entry. But then again, I live on the top floor, so that may be the reason for it, who knows. All I know is it's a sad shame that a place that is so convenient is poorly managed and I am FINALLY looking for a new place before I commit illegal acts against Robert!
