I just moved to this place about 2 months ago and I do not recommend this place to anyone. I live here with my 5 year old daughter and i am breaking my lease next month. There are so many people hanging out front of the building smoking drugs and drinking trying to hit me and i feel so uncomfortable. I cannot sleep at night and i am too embarassed to even bring anyone over. You can here everything through the walls. I recomend that if you are a single female please do not move her unless you have some AK47'S, tech 9's or something because it is dangerous and you need some protection. I admit that you are easily approved but it will be a mistake. I hate this place it needs to be shut down and remodeled. If you are on SECTION 8 then it may be cool because im sure you will be used to living in such filth but if you are a hard worker please make another decision. really regret moving to this (bed bug ridden, BIG ASS ROACHES running across my floor, maintenance call themselves fixing my kitchen sink, TRIFLING ASS KIDS with parents who don't give a ---- what their child does playing in the hall all hours of the day and night) ---- HOLE APARTMENT! This is THE WORST AND I MEAN THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER LIVED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE! If you have a choice PLEASE DO NOT MOVE HERE! TRUST ME U WILL REGRET!

I am very offender by this review. I am a 49 year old woman on the so-called "section 8" housing voucher. You are terribly mistaken. First of all, I been working nearly 30 years for the gov't. The bad times, the recession, and the death of my husband forced me to seek extra help. It took me about 18 months to get the voucher becuase housing looks at EVERYTHING. You cant just be someone off the street and decide not to work and live for less with the voucher. It doesnt work that way. Secondly, (statistically) about 85% of all people with section 8 are either elderly or disabled (yeah...I'd really be afraid of them <----sarcasm) And lastly, didnt you ride around the property at night before you signed a lease? Or did ANY research of ANY kind? Yes, the crime has gotten worse here. You can also say that for every area in America. I live here, and no, it isnt paradise, but its my home. Oh. yeah and call the police if you see people smoking drugs. You can remain anonimous (spelling?) If you don't help stop it you are just part of the problem.

first of all i saw the EXACT same review from this person regarding another property so obviously this is someone with too much time on their hands putting up false reviews - which is sad when there are people who want an honest opinion about a complex...

How is it moving from Kent Islant? I know about PG county but can you compaire the two? lol. Sounds like you summed it up enough though-guess its true the low rent means its all in the area.

I have lived here too long and from day one it has been nothing but noise! Mildew, central unit problems and HVAC doesn't work on weekends! You have to be careful what bldg you are assigned to. Unruly kids,disrespectful and inconsiderate tenants. Oh lets not forget they require carpet if you are living above someone. They don't enforce it no matter how much you complain.Noise all night have to sleep with t.v. on just to block out the noise.Now if you hate flying and what to visit other countries come to Calvert Hall not that I am against other cultures they do things a little different and if you love (unruly) kids come to Calvert Hall.LOL It like Chuck Brown says"BLOCK PARTY".If you just need a stepping stone but don't make it your home.
