I've some good days and bad ones. For 2 years, I lived at Cypress Creek without any major problems. My neighbors were friendly and I didn't mind too much living next to the elementary school. It wasn't until the change in management problems started to arise.
I came in under a special, 2BD/2BA apt for $680, well after that year they raised without informing me to market rate $835. Then, they sent me a court summons with failure to pay back rent. With time off of work we finally resolved the situation; it did leave a bad taste in my mouth.
However, not enough to leave the community yet. I moved into another building. This time it was a 2BD/2BA roommate style. Rent started off at $900 and has increased to $960. No compliants from me until our car was stole from in front of apt. What a voilated experience. Management said that couldn't do anything about the incident. A beef up in security would have made me feel better, brighter lights, anything. I knew then I had to get out of the community.
As far as maintenance, they are slow. You have to put things in writing and constantly keep on them. It helps to go down in person so they are familiar with your face when you call in a problem. Over the years, I have made myself known and seem to get better service. Thank the lord, I had only minor issues and haven't seen anything crawling in my apt.
I know the some management people and they are ok overall. Adisa was the best, but he has moved on to bigger and better things.
I think the best and most attractive feature for Cypress Creek is the washer and dryer. It got me hook, line, and sinker. However, the electric bill from Pepco is nothing nice. I am on a payment plan of $120/mo. A suggestion for future tenants would be to have someone else provide your energy cost like Washington Gas, it virtually lowers your bill in half.
I am glad to say that after 3&1/2 years, I am finally leaving the community.
