Don't do it to yourself

I have lived in Cypress Creek for almost a year and a half and it is the most unpleasant experience I've ever had.
Things were literally falling apart after being there for only two weeks. The molding around the counters, the fixture under the sink, holes in the window screens, etc.
The refrigerator was supposed to be replaced right away because (and I kid you not) the inside door was TAPED together. I can see the insulation. And the fruit/veg bins were cracked and the top piece was broken. It was NEVER replaced and the new mamangement tells us that all of those things could have not been wrong. Please.
Getting things repaired takes some real vigilance on my part.
Also, I live on the first floor and I know to expect some "overhead noise" but it is almost like we are all in the same room. I know when these folks get up, take a shower, leaves on time or is running late, and I know the exact position of their bed because I can hear as they walk around it. I've had friends over who just cannot believe it.
I'm trying to buy a home, like stability for my kids, and don't like the idea of changing their schools to only have to change it again sometime this year so I'm holding on but it's a real shame when you just hate your home.
On a positive note, the grounds are well maintained, I have never had bug problems outside of the ones that get in because of the holes in the screens, I love the washer/dryer and my youngest child attends the school that is right there on the property. And, the kids love the pool in the summer.
For the money that I pay for my two bedroom(almost $1100) I think that some can do better. It's a shame but I've lived in the hood in NYC and DC and had it better.
