I moved to Cypress Creek back in April and for this to be my first apartment things seemed ok. Now, 7 months later I m changed my tune. I moved in to a 2 bd/2ba on the first floor (bad mistake). Being on the 1st level leads to the problem of the apartment constantly being damp. There's so much moisture that the floors are damp, the paint on the doors cause them to stick and becoming hard to open, and the worst part, it makes my clothes feel damp too (which I hate with a passion)! (2) Along, with both the dampness and being on the first level, I have a serious issue with centipedes and hopping spiders (resembles crickets)! These things are so gross and annoying. So far I have determined that these creatures only come out during the spring and summer months. During this time, I had one of these creatures pop up once a day. First I thought that a neighbor had a spider farm, b/c they were frequent and in assorted colors lol (really not a laughing matter though, b/c I have a phobia of any creepy crawly creatures). (3) Moving on past summer into fall and winter no problems (as of yet knock on wood), but it s still damp in the apartment and now a bit chilly. This can be made bearable by turning on the heat, and staying in that one room. But the heater/ac are the types of units you would find in a Motel 8 :-(. Needless to say the entire apartment doesn t heat up just the room that you have it on in with the door closed.

More negatives - Maintenance is slow; have to call several times to get a work order in and completed; I changed my locks and they lost my key.

Positives- I do not have any rodents or roaches, thank God (knock on wood once again); the complex is very quiet, other than one so called are jacking. Still don't know if that really happened to the guy across the hall from me; No one loiters. All in all the place is decent. Can say this is a good learning experience as a first time renter, but I will not be staying here after my lease is up. I need to find another property with better management (if there is such a thing) and no critter infestation.
