cheap rent gets bad apartments From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/25/2004 Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004   For Grad students this is the cheapest option and the main advantage is that it is close to campus (walking distance). However, it has MAJOR problems: - LOTS of roaches. When I move in I could not set the kitchen until one month later given the amount of roaches. Lately, they appear in the bedrooms bigger and stronger than in the kitchen. - smells from other apartments filter trought the ventilation system (in my case, curry smell all day long from my indian neighbors) - some staff members act like they were doing a favor to you and not getting paid for it - old carpets (they think it is not true) - walls are bad painted - mold in the bathrooms (again, they do not see it) - It is a very unsecure place. Many car robberies,arm roberies I was here basically because I needed to be close to campus and my budget was very tight. However, as soon as I could afford to move (I did not have to go anymore everyday to campus and my budget increased just enough to move) I went to other place
