Kirkwood

 

I've lived here for seven years.

I like it.

This largely Spanish community is filled with friendly, hard working people.

There is ample parking, which is free.

I'm told new residents will have to pay water, but electricity and gas are included in rent.

It's right next to the West Hyattsville Metro station on the Green Line.

The maintenance staff has always been very helpful to me.

The people in the rental office are friendly and courteous.
The apartments themselves are nothing special but considering the price and convenient location, I can't complain.

No dishwasher or garbage disposal and the A/C is a window unit located in the living room.

There is an additional cost to add A/C units to other rooms, which is a believe 50 dollars per month.

Any problems I've had have been handled quickly.

Laundry rooms are in every other building and the machines are always kept in good condition.

There is a 24 hour laundry and two large supermarkets nearby.

There are play grounds for the kids and lots of open space for kickball football or soccer.

There is also a baseball diamond and basketball court across the street.

Kirkwood is also right next to bike trails and a short walk or ride to tennis courts.

If you can live without a dishwasher and garbage disposal and want a convenient, affordable place to live, Kirkwood is worth considering.

Also, before you sign your lease, try to find a resident to refer you.

We are being offered $500 dollars for every new one year lease signed.

This is obviously a staff person. No person living here in their right mind would have written this review. (and...The community is largely Salvadorean. There are no people living on the property from Spain. To my knowledge, anyway.)
