I've been living here for a year and cant complaint about the management, they are very polite.
They do take care of things fast, once I got a problem with the heating at 1am, and the maintenance guy got here in less than 20 min.
Roaches' there are many but it actually depends on you and your neighbors.
I had a lot of roaches when I moved in but request the management to send someone to exterminate and in 2 weeks they sent someone.
Ever since I call every other month for pest control and they come no charge.
Bed Bugs' haven't seen any.
Washer and dryer are old.
I never hear my neighbors unless I'm in the hall.
The only thing I complaint about is the crime!!! The reason I'm moving out is because someone tried to break into my apt.
Once a month you see a police car chasing someone.
Don't go out after 8pm.
The good thing is the metro is right next door.
But after 8 is not that safe to walk at night from there.

I know of Kirkwood's reputation back in the late 1980's. It was crime-ridden and drugs were sold openly. Things quieted down after a police shooting and Kirkwood became very quiet. Actually livable again. It's just the times that it is the way it is now.

this is from 2009...now 2011 i need to let everybody this place is scary as hell...the police is chasing and chasing and chasing....its not safe at all...please dont move here!!

I live here now and have never had any saftey issues except the young man who was shot on the branch trail.Think about it your in PG I walk home from the metro at 12am nightly and the only time i got bothered was for a ciggarette.You people are just paranoid.
