If you need to live anywhere near by, this place isn't bad. Crime is an issue, but that is true for most of West Hyattsville (we frequently hear gunshots). There were a few insects, but no more than I have seen anywhere else (I'm a country boy, maybe I am just used to bugs).

I have never had a problem with the management. They have kept all promises. Any problems with the apartment (plugged drains mostly) have been dealt with same day. The neighbors upstairs clogged their tub and it was leaking in my bathroom (paint on ceiling bubbled a bit) . They fixed that leak within 10 minutes of my reporting it and offered to repaint the ceiling (I didn't want the hassle, so I declined). They are always very friendly in the office. The neighbors are friendly as well.

For the most part things are quiet, we have one neighbor that likes the bass of thier music a little much, but only during resonable hours.

Again, I would not recommend this AREA at all, but if you are going to live in a five mile radius, this place is the great!

I have to agree with this gentleman. I saw roaches when I first moved in, but I used the combat glue gun and have not encountered any more. Plus I'm pretty clean. It's been a year. Mice and sewer issues? Ohmigod. I never had that either and I live in a ground apt. Overlook is ok for the price and location; I'm not sure what folks expect in West Hyattsville. I have decent neighbors who actually speak back when you say hello. Mgmt has been very responsive. I mind my own business and haven't had any problems.
