Don't Judge a Book by its Cover

I am very disappointed by what I have read from our residents and sorry that they feel the way they do but continue to live here. I am a long time resident (and I'm not old and settled) as mentioned in one the letters, but I have lived here a number of years and gone through many Resident and Asst. Managers and staff we have now goes over and beyond their duties. Sure, some may feel they deserve new carpet, appliances or kitchen cabinets, but the decision to replace/upgrade the apartments does not come from the office staff but from the management company. All the staff can do is take your written request to those over them and wait for a decision/approval. There is an old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I have heard some residents say, "I've been here so long, they need to give me something new", just because the appliance is scratched, is not a reason for replacement. As far as crime, its every where you go, it cannot be avoided and Parker House cannot be held responsible. As far as roaches and rodents, I have seen 2 in the past 6 years (especially when people move in or out), but they come in on grocery bags, newspapers, boxes, etc. and any time you live in a community of apartments or attached/semi-detached houses, you will eventually see a roach. I have never had a rodent problem, but again, whereever there are low growing shrubs and trees, you will find rodents(mice) and when the weather changes, they are trying to keep warm, so they find a way inside buildings. So to discourage them, keep food covered, and wipe up spills.
Last but not least, you are not happy at Parker House, then M O V E, I'm sure the community would be better off without you, but will never find another 'home' with the large rooms and closet space or with parking that you don't have to pay for. If you stay, then work with the management staff to make things better, stop complaining and use the enery for improving the community
