DO NOT RENT AT THIS APARTMENT COMPLEX!! It is the worst place in the UNIVERSE! The only thing that kept me at these apartments were my neighbors & the space. Only move here if you love CRIME, NASTY, RUDE, GOSSIPING, LAZY, IGNORANT UNINTELLIGENT Management and a serious ROACH/MICE infestation! There is NO SUCH thing as maintenance or 24 hr. maintenance here at this property. The maintenance men spend their entire work day flirting with tenants and playing. As well as the so-called cleaning crew (one who you will see almost every morning sneaking out of the one maintenance man aparment). They mop the floor with a sour smelling mop and when they are done "cleaning" there are still bugs eveywhere. Neither maintenance or the "cleaning" crew make an effort to even look busy because they simple don't care. The carpet is disgusting and looks as though it has been down since they built the building it also has an ordor to it (kind of like corn chips and sweaty feet). It was "cleaned" earlier this year which was a waste of money because it looks the same and STILL has an odor. The roaches and rodents are very comfortable and they come from everywhere. They don't even die when you spray them with bug spray. I guess they are immune to it. Usually roaches scatter when the lights come on..these roaches look you dead in your eye and dare you to attempt to kill them! I have had two pet mice "Amos & Andy" who used to play inside my walls at all times of the day and night scratching, moving and an occaional game of hop scotch. I think I killed one of them (or perhaps another random mouse) and the other I guess got lonely and found another tenant to terrorize or just died. At any given time you will not have hot water or NO WATER AT ALL w/o notice! There is always a problem with the pipes. So sometimes you spend days without water. Management always finds a reason to have to go into your apartment which most of the time they don't give you the 24 hr. notice which you are entitled to by Maryland law. The office manager Angela is never there and when she is she has a disgusting attitude. The office hours are a complete JOKE. When you go to the rental office during their normal business hours you will find that they are closed (or their not so smart trick-they post the out showing an apartment sign on the door which stays there until the next morning). They are supposedly turning these apartments into condos. I am leaving ASAP...Parker House should be re-named to "The Carter"....maybe the owners of "The Carter" could do a better job of running this place. The Carter....oopppsss I mean Parker House has left a bad taste in my mouth as well as the whole Hyattsville area and I want to be as far as I can from it!

If it's sooo bad why do you stay. I Love my apartment and the Maintenance Staff is GREAT! It's always one or two BAD APPLES and you are one of them.... Maybe your apartment is DIRTY.

YEAH...get the hell out (you may have to break your lease)! What are you waiting for? Overall, your story had me cracking (LOL) up; especially when you mentioned about the roaches and mice problem. And you're right, the roaches are immune to the roach spray that management uses year after year...it's like that in almost every other apartments.
