I lived at Parker House close to almost two years. Granted the complex had its issues but I did love my apartment and the location. Parking was a dream. Before the tenants knew it we were hit with the notice that the complex was turning into Condos. The process had already begun and the tenants didn't have a leg to stand on because there was no tenant association to stop this. Had we had an association the Donaldson Group would not have stood a chance. I watched the process in horror and the bottom line is this company doesn't care about the tenants at all let alone the senior citizens. They have three years and they have to move with no help or assistance and these people are too old to be moving like this. "According to the company that brought the complex...THIS IS THE REAL WORLD!!!!" I heard this from a man that worked for this company when they met with the tenants to discuss their options and we asked them about the senior citizens and if they were going to help these people or at least let them live out their lives there...which the answer is no!!!! (It's all about a dollar folks) The only thing they provide is $750 for moving and that's all. They have the money so why not the total cost of moving for what the tenants have to pay for the inconvience just to fatten this company's pockets!'! Most of the ratings on this site is true and for the two 4.0 rating...that came from Management to make themselves look good on the site. They had roach problems before I moved there and after I left. They got so bold they rode the elevators with you! And yes, you could hear the mice playing in the walls and up in the ceilings. Granted in an complex you are going to have roaches but not one time since my tenure there did they provide an exterminator unless you ask for it. Every six months, there should have been a notice to exterminate the whole complex and not just one apartment or two per requests. If that's the case then the roaches would drink the roach spray as a cocktail and party all night long! And yes the manager there did have an attitude problem. These people knew the complex was sold and couldn't say a word for fear of losing their jobs so I guess she would have one. Bottom line, the damage is done. People have moved out not because they wanted to but they had to...they were forced out. These people gave us no decent discount rate and who wants to pay over $200,000 for a two bedroom apartment and NO Washer/Dryer in each unit because the pipes are old' If they were smart they should have gutted out the whole entire complex and rebuild with new everything and then they could ask for whatever price they want but that's too much like right!!!!!! (They wouldn't have to worry about old pipes, flooding and leaks)! This place is nothing but patch work and YOU WILL buy existing problems. The laundry room flooded several times doing their renovations let alone other problems. Yes the water had to be shut off to update the meters so you will have to pay for your own water. They did provide us an apartment to use doing the days water was shut off to share...NO THANK YOU! They had people cleaning off the roof of the buildings and had stuff flying off instead of having a unit to contain the black debris from flying everywhere all over the place which was an health issue. It looks nice on the outside but YOU CAN'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER! Don't take my word for it..check the place out and take a carpenter with you or any home improvement person...they will tell you themselves ITS ALL PATCH WORK BABY! And yes, its true about the cars! I too walked around the grounds of the complex and its club city USA. Not two months after I first moved there my vehicle was broken into. It got so bad that one person vehicle was broken into and he took it out on the complex because the company would not be responsible. They knew about the crime and the breakins. Cameras should have been installed but now I see why they didn't do anything. This takeover was three years in the process! Now the Donaldson Group has it and has provided a new gate around the area. I guess it will have all the perks of it being electronic but what's the use of a gate when its all plastic' How cheap can you get for prices you are asking for this complex' They couldn't put up wrought iron gates! You get state of the art plastic for your security. I'm waiting to see the first person to drive the gate right to the ground because that's exactly what's going to happen trying to get away from yet another car break-in! One person considering to buy ask me about the crime rate and I told them the truth...just look at the cars!!!! That should tell you something. Maybe your condo fee will provide you with a guard at the gate...that may help him to stay awake and not fall asleep on the job!!! Dispite the cons of Parker House they did have some pros...1) you didn't see a lot of children running all over the place, 2) the Lobby was nice and very inviting and didn't have to worry about trash all over the place inside of the building, 3) your heating and air conditioning was off the hook! At least you were warm in the winter and cool in the summer with no problems and 4) yes they did accept Section 8 as long as they were working but they were in the last building of the complex which they called Parker House Terrace. Whatever problems I had I dealt with accordingly because it could have been alot worse and you had not only apartment space but alot of closet space! Those who lived at Parker House knows, especially in the last year of its life. You had people who lived there for 10, 15, 20 years that had to move out because they couldn't afford their units anymore because of the ridiculous prices and condo fees. Anywhere you go now to rent the prices are much higher and the places are far worse off than Parker House unless you move further out. It was like saying goodbye to an old friend when I moved. Parker House died and Fairmont took over. I have learned when you do wrong to people it comes back to haunt you! I know there's going to be alot of problems there. But you be the judge and consider hard because once you buy you are on your own and you will have to deal with pre-existing problems that they will not tell you about. God help you if the pipes burst! Don't take my word for it ask the remaining tenants and they will tell you the truth! I only wish things could have been done differently.

I live at the Fairmont. The staff is excellent and they try their best to accomodate. I have had no problems w/leaks or bugs in the year and a half I have lived here. You can definitely see the vast improvements in the building. There is security patrolling the property and car theft, breakins have dropped drastically. The building is a work in progress, but I am very satisfied w/my purchase. Also, each unit is equipped with a washer and dryer and diswasher. The location is awesome and the Fairmont is on the up and up.
