As I was applying for this apartment the grass was neatly cut, the sun was shining, and birds were chirping. Mind you this was prior to signing the lease. After I signed the lease, by nightfall it looked like they were having a block party on my street. I was totally unaware until a friend of mine came over and asked me to look outside the hallway window. I lived on Madison Way, which was like Hell's Kitchen. The tenants in my building were very nice and well reserved, but just a building down you could get anything from cocaine to a stereo. I lived here from 2002-2003 and the rent then started out at 559 and ended at 580. That is the quality apartment that I was given. ROACHES, ROACHES, and more damn ROACHES. I dont care if you pay $1 for rent, no one should be subject to live with those kinda pests. When I called the rental office to be put on the lists all they would come and do is drop powder down, I almost had to cut one of the exterminators and told the rental office he better not ever come back to my apartment because he was just that rude and non interested in doing his work. He didnt have to live with them, I did. After about 6 months to a year in this apartment, the roaches finally started dying off and the conditions were more habitable. But what about the toilet that rocks when u sit down' What about the kitchen sink that only leaks soda into the cabinet below and then onto the floor' What about the mold that caused my soap bar and handle in the bathroom shower to deteriorate and fall off' What about the doors that constantly come off track' What about the light fixture that came crashing to the floor for no apparent reason' What about the door that you could kick in if you wanted to but they keep replacing the lock instead' Parking was never really a problem for me, the problem was making sure your car was there in the morning. And although I was fortunate to keep mine, someone did part with my radio. And lets not start with the laundry room!!!! They have washers that wash nothing. The tub fills up with water and thats it and then they had the nerve to go up by 50 cent. Are you serious'!!!!!!! My experience with the pple in the rental office was usually pleasant, probably because they knew they were dead wrong for setting me up in that apartment. When I moved in, it was only on the condition that they were supposed to be getting new windows, cabinets and lock for the front door. The front door never got locked because of kids that play outside at all hours of the night. We got windows but it was no point because they never kept the heat in or the air out. I dont think I really used my cabinets the whole time because for one there were dead roaches in there so I left it the same way I found it, and for two they painted over it so much it was always a hassle trying to get into them. And then they have the old metal cabinets so you can just imagine. Not to mention an old time sink where hot comes out of one and cold out of the other.

This was a starter apartment for me but I didnt stay no longer than I could help it. If this is all you can afford it is really unfortunate for you, but if you can go somewhere else, shell out that extra 100 or 200 because your health is really at risk here.

Oh yeah, right when I moved one of the guys that used to hang outside was shot 12 times in front of my old building and more have died since then. DEFINATELY A NO-NO!!!!!!!!! And no I didnt get my security deposit back but I didnt care cause I just wanted to be gone, but I left them a very nice present though!!!!!!

oh you too, that's how it was when i came around to view the place. but see i was told that they strictly enforced the no loitering policy of course that was bulls#$%. i moved in 09/04 i moved out 01-05. plus they give out your personal info to anybody.
