...um interesting reads I had to put my opinion up!

Well I took rental ownership in April of this year and I must really say that considering I have family that live in the area, knew of someone that lived there years back and I kinda felt it was pretty quiet nothing compared to a previous apt I had in Kings Square (up 202); I went ahead and decided to rent from the community. Now of course the CHEAP rent is another that caught my eye...but besides that my job is only 15 min (tops) away so I knew that with the current gas hike (price wise) THIS WAS GOING TO BE THE PLACE!

Needless to say after my first 2 weeks I started noticing ROACHES more and more....but of course I was told that since the unit was vacant for over a month that was the reason....Also, I was told from the rental office that they did NOT provide CAULKING for the apartments and that I would have to get my own. They said that caulking the holes thru out the unit would help with the roaches....So I went up to the hardware store and made sure I bought caulking so that my uncle could caulk up my entire apt! The previous tenant had CARPET so you know that means I had a HUGE GAP from the baseboard to the floor! After dropping over $70.00 in caulking and products to help keep the roaches at a minimum I insisted that I got a PERSONAL VISIT from the property manager himself....I just had to SHOW them I am NOT your dirty tenant! I was also informed that getting on the extermination list WEEKLY will also help with the roaches...so I called the rental office every Monday AM and scheduled to be on the list for the next day, TUESDAY! They ensured me that once the guy serviced my unit 3 times back to back I would no longer see any.....HOW ABOUT THAT SHYT WAS A JOKE!

So I started up my letters of complaint because I am one person that knows the law regarding LANDLORD/TENANT issues.....Man oh man they must have thought I was dumb becuase they didn't see ANY OF MY ACTIONS COMING! So the first letter of complaint went out a few months after I stayed there...I must admit I gave them so so so many chances to get their act together regarding the extermination/roach issues oh and not to mention the FUNKY A$$ APT that is located under mine....JESSSSSSUS what int he WORLD do these use to clean with! COULDN'T BE BLEECH!!! The rental office were acting too slow so I acted for them!

I HAND DELIEVERED my 3rd and FINAL letter IN PERSON and voiced myself on how I was about to walk out their office and to the District Court Bldg. I know that my apt is infested...anytime you gotta kill roaches while trying to cook IS A BIT TOO MUCH! OH I DIDN'T EVEN TELL YALL I stopped using their exterminator a month ago (right after i dropped the 2nd letter off) and started paying for my own! Can you say $80.00 a month to service the whole apt twice a month from FRONT to BACK! If anything I started cleaning up DEAD roaches vs. chasing the live ones.....A hour after dropping my 3rd letter off...GUESS WHAT I GOT A PHONE CALL FROM THE PROPERTY MANAGER! They were going to look into 2 other apts in the complex and if they didn't see that any of them met my expectations then they would check their SISTER property! SEE I TOLD YALL I AM NOT PLAYING!!! NOW LOOK AT HOW THEY ARE ACTING SO QUICK NOW!

Today during my lunch I will go look at the 2nd apt that the property manager would like me to view and get my opinion on...they are trying to get me in that COMFY state cause they know IM 1 SEC FROM GOING OFF!

I will keep the board posted on my new unit!

How can they advertise the apartments as if they are the top of line and the roaches have more rights than the tenant who apartment is it? the roaches or the one who pays the rent

August 3 Can't quite say my experience is quite as bad as some of the others; but I do agree that there is a roach problem I wish they would take care of.

Oh I thought it was just me the ------- roaches are terrible if i kill one more in my baby crib we going to have a problem...The word from the mayor of bladensburg is they will be knocking this JOE"S APARTMENTS DOWN....
