I?ve lived here for 2 years, and overall I?ve been pleased. The apartments are very affordable, have a washer and dryer and plenty of space. The neighborhood is tucked away in a pretty area. It?s sort of in between Savage & Columbia. It?s a perfect location for those commuting to D.C. or Baltimore, because of it?s close proximaty to 95.

The people in the office are pretty friendly, and the maintenance people are quick and very nice. They shovel the sidewalk immediately after it snows and if anyone creates a mess on the grounds at night they make sure it?s cleaned by morning. They are quick to respond to problems in the apartments, and have been known to fix minor problems (a closet door off it?s track, replace light bulbs) while they?re tending to the major problem.

There are a group of teenagers who hang out on the front steps of a few buildings and in parking lots. For the most part the kids are nice, but they drink, make noise and can be a nuisance. As a woman, it is intimidating to see a bunch of teenage boys hanging out on your front steps.

The parking is plentiful, but as in any parking lot there are times when cars have mysterious scratches from inconsiderate neighbors.

The airconditioning is great but the heat is poor. The apartments use a heat pump, but sometimes I?d swear it was a cold pump. If you keep your thermostat on 70 it feels more like 60. It stays very cool. If there is a vent above your bed you will be awakened by a gush of cold air. Heat pumps are not great in general, but they?re worse here than anywhere.

There pet policy is strict. Even a hamster is not permitted. Although I have seen a few birds and such flying around a few apartments. But if you want a pet of any kind in the next few years, consider a pet-friendly place.

Overall, Autumn Woods has been a great place to live and I would recommend it to anyone.
