I've lived here for almost 9 months, and haven't had any serious problems. Only a couple of things have broken in my apartment, and they fixed them the next day. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful. I can hear the neighbors sometimes, but it is muffled enough that I often don't even know which neighbor it is. The loudest thing is when someone slams their front door. While I was out of town there was some sort of noise dispute between two of my neighbors, but I had never heard anything and the office seemed to be earnestly trying to resolve the situation. I live in one of the single-room buildings, and in the double-room buildings there seem to be a lot of people with kids, as there are a couple schools in the area, but they seem like mostly elementary and middle-school-aged kids, who haven't been a problem. The complex has a no-pet policy, which eliminates some of the noise and keeps things cleaner. People here seem to have jobs, usually if I come home before 5 p.m. most the cars are still gone. There has been the occasional false fire alarm (never in my building, though). The roads leading to the neighborhood (Route 1, Guilford Rd.) are fairly congested around rush hour, but the complex itself is on a dead-end street, and this is really the nicest affordable (in metro DC $$) place I have found this close to the I-95/295 corridor/Ft. Meade/NSA area. The heat pump is efficient but it seems a bit loud (or maybe it is just mine'). The bathroom is quite small but useable, although the water pressure in the shower is mediocre at best. There is not a lot of partying going here, I believe I am the youngest adult in the complex! (Could be a good or bad thing, depending on what you are looking for.) All in all, if I end up staying in Maryland I will still be renting here.
