I moved into Gateway Village in October of 2003 and for 5 years, I have been happy. HOWEVER the staff in the rental office has changed and unfortunately, they do not WORK. Shawntelle LaGrand is unprofessional and can't even take the time to send a tenant written notice of her intention to terminate their lease. I was late few times. If you are late around here, they file to evict IMMEDIATELY, and even if you don't owe them any money, they still throw you out. Like I said, after 5 years and not so much as one noise complaint, I have been told flat out my money is no longer good here. It SURE WOULD BE NICE if they would honor the lease and give me 30 days written notice! I will need that paperwork when I take them to court for BREACH OF CONTRACT.

Shawntelle told me if I want written notice to walk to the rental office to get it. So I did. AS USUAL SHE WASN'T THERE. They are NEVER THERE. I mean NEVER....seriously, NEVER!!!

Shawntelle's manager KESHIA WARRICK takes unprofessional behavior to a WHOLE NEW LEVEL!! She REFUSED to return any phone calls or emails. I guess I wasn't important enough. I spoke to HER manager Niki Wilson, she was polite buy didn't call me back like she said she would.

I have placed a formal written complaint against these people with Attorney General for the state of MD, and THEY AGREE with me and are handling this issue.
As far as the complex goes, it's not bad. The maintenance staff here is AMAZING, thery go above and beyond EVERY TIME you call. Until the management changed hands, this WAS a nice place to live. I would not recommend living here now. When the rental office is being run by unprofessional, rude, IGNORANT PEOPLE that NEVER show up for work or return phone calls...you can't expect much. I truly hope the maintenance staff at my next complex is as efficient and professional as they were here.

I give this place a giant THUMBS DOWN. It has gone downhill fast around here. Half the apartments are unrented, people can't leave here fast enough. You would think they MIGHT try to be more professional and maybe KEEP their tenants'

If you need a place in the Jessup area, Columbia Commons and Dominion Kings Place are nice and very closeby. Their apartments are WAYYYYY BIGGER and offer more amenities (Gateway has NO storage and NO pool and NO REAL STAFF in the rental office) at a better rate! Shawntelle and Keshia have done wonderful job in ruining what was once a nice apartment complex.
