What do you mean they are charging a certain amount...so basically what you are saying (forgive me if I sound naive...my rent all uts incl.) is that regardless of my usage of Gas for a particualar month...I may end up paying a higher amount based on the usage of other tenants? So the meter really isn't gauging one person's usage but it's metered collectively?

That what she means. I have the same problem. I only have a gas stove, everything else is electric. One month for cooking was $98.89. They base the bill on square footage and the number of people in the apartment. I asked what does square footage have to do with cooking? The heat is electric. I was told that it was the only fair way to bill. I said that the only fair way to bill is to put in individual meters for each apartment. I can't wait to leave this place. It's be one thing after another with my case.

These people are not only unprofessional but crazy too. I spoke with the VP the first week in Jan 07 he apologized for all that I have gone through with the gas bill. On Friday of last week he sounded like a crazy man that told me to "do what you have to do". I am not paying this gas bill and I will have to file a law suit against them so that I can clear my name. They don't care that someone was shot in the head on my front step less than 2 weeks ago. They are treating all of us like animals and we must stand up for ourselves. Thank you for responding.
