I moved here from another state in October 2005. The cheap rent ($777) was the main reason since I had only a few days to relocate for a new job. From day one, the rental office was clueless. They gave me three different addresses. I'm on the highway driving a U-Haul and get a call asking me what my address was. I told them some kind of duscussion took place on the other end of the line and I was informed that the address I quoted was incorrect. My rent went up $100 the first year. What's up with that' Under Bethany, it went up another $50. My rent is now $920. Still cheap by comparison, but I am trying to save up to move. Probably why they raise it so much to keep you here.
While this place was under management by the Donaldson Group, the office staff/management changed twice. Betthany took over and a few things imporved slightly(actual numbers on the doors of the apartment, for one), but trust me when I tell you, they are truly overwhelmed. The first challenge is that there are 25 buildings. Each building has four floors. The ground floor has six units. I'm not sure about the other floors, but it seems they have the same number. You do the math! The size of the staff and maintenance crew compared to the number of tennants indicates the level of service you get.
I've read other's reviews and can attest to everything. I live on the ground floor in a one-bedroom that has been remodeled. The leaks in the bathroom from upstairs, the mold in the dining room and bedroom closet, the slow response to requests for maintenance, the gunfire, the "element" that enters the neighborhood after dark, the unruly children and the thin walls (my neighbors like each other A LOT!). I have not had the roach problem so much. I run a tight ship, but I do see one about every month or so. Once they had an exterminator come in and I saw more that week than I have since I've lived here. It seems they were a bunch of quacks that didn't put down anything, but charged them. Probably sugar water, based on the number of creatures I saw that week. They did remedy the problem after that.
I once called the health department about the mold, bathroom leak and a leak under my sink. They merely steamed my carpet and painted over it. It has returned, of course. My new lease I just signed indicates it is MY responsibility to let them know I have mold and they provided a PRICE LIST for painting and such when I move. You have GOT to be kidding me!
I can't wait to leave. If you know of a good move-in deal, please let me know!
Anyway, look somewhere else or pay a little extra.

It seems as if your were seeing things from my eyes. Great post and very accurate. I am looking into Glen Oaks apartments in Greenbelt. They are having a wonderful move in special right now. I lived in Greenbelt prior to living in Coopers Crossing and I think you will find the area more suitable to your liking.
