So much about Fair Housing Act. Can an apartment refuse a renter solely on the premise that she/he does not have a Social Security Number' Not all SSN non-holders are illegals. An H4 dependent visa holder is not issued an SSN but they are not illegal individuals.
This apartment should review their "policy" of alienating dependents and excluding them from the contract for not having a social security number.
I think that's what the Fair Housing Law is all about.

Yes they can refuse you if you don't have a ssn. Many places can and will refuse you and I don't think you are protected under the Fair Housing Act either unless you are a U.S. Citizen or at least naturalized.
