The Educated Truth

Kevt Village has a lot of potential, but who wants to pay rent for potential. The washer and dryer unit, that is located in the smallest kitchen I have ever seen, has been nothing but a headache. I finally have given up on getting the leaky washer fixed. The third time is not the charm. Now the dryer is another issued because its not vented. This causes mold to grow along the ceiling and walls in the kitchen. Cooking & Mold = Getting very sick. This is against Health code. I know because I contacted Marylands housing authority. I was told by K village staff, that upon signing the lease I should have been advised to crack a window to avoid the mold. ALL I CAN SAY IS, ARE THEY SERIOUS! This was in Febuary and my electric bill was already over $200. So leaving the windows open was not happening. (The same issue exists in the bathroom). Hot Shower & No Ventilation = Black Mold. And did I mention the motel heaters that are only located in two rooms of the house. In order to keep my room warm I had to plug in a mini-heater that caused the power to go out everyday, because the whole upstairs and half of the down stairs is hooked to one fuse. In the end I just got dressed every morning freezing my ass off because I was tired of re-setting my clock. Be advised the house comes with window bilnds that are so so so dirty, ever time I reach through them to open a window I want to throw up. Curtains are a must. Inside the shower the front of the soap dish has been cracked off. I found out by gashing my leg on it one morning. And I think Stevie Wonder fixed the tiles in the shower cause there is caulk every were. It looks like the handles to control the water have been reattatched some many times, someone finally gave up and left them dangling away from the wall. SO back to the mold.
Come to find out all of the townhomes are equipt with the same health hazard (black mold). So after sveral phone calls, one certifed letter, a health inspection, and a meeting with the property manager.
"Your home will be the first to be vented, one month from today (3/29/04)," says the Property Manager. TO BE CONTINUED.....
Next time I will tell you the story of how I was never given any visitors passes and how my moms rental car was STOLEN by TRP Towing. TRP works for K Village and when I called TRP about the car they lied and said they did not tow it. This was on Saturday and suddenly on Monday the car magically appears at TRP after the Police listed it on the Hot sheet.
There is one exceptional staff member (Rekia). I don't think thats the correct spelling. She is polite, professional, and I wish her well.
