Not that bad...

My fiance and I were looking for a place last year, but were having problems b/c at the time neither of us made the income requirement needed for several complexes. Thank God for good credit we were able to get in at Kent Village. We paid 783 for a one bedroom that included a college discount, and complete furnishings. We never had any serious issues with the complex. Yes the walls are thin, we could hear our neighboor sing karoke loudly (and badly) bright and early every Saturday moring. My car was towed once (my fault, I forgot to replace the parking pass). The only problem we had was parking. There were far too many tenants for the alloted number of spots. Coming home late from work I often had to park across the street in an almost empty lot (for townhouses). We had a problem with spiders, and HUGE waterbugs (nothing a little Raid here and then did not fix).

The heating was a nightmare however. The motel style units could not fully heat the two rooms. Our heater broke, and would not blow out heat in high. We were told it was not a problem b/c it still blew out over 70 Degees on low. However our windows and vents were not properlly insulated so the cold air came in just as fast as the heat making for an EXTREMELY cold living room. We had to buy a portable heater which also was quickly overpowered. We were forced to live out the winter in the bedroom with the door closed.

Safety is also a problem at the complex. We were frightened when we heard our first gunshot there, but now them come like clock work. 10:00PM on the dot. It has gotten to a point where we don't go outside late at night unless we literally HAVE to. It's a shame we have to feel that way for a place that we PAY to live in.

The good outweighed the bad, and we have since moved to a larger town home with better parking in the complex. We have had no problems with the staff, so I would reccommend this complex to others.
