I have been a resident of Kent Village since 2004. Recently I had to move out of my apartment because my hardwood floors buckled up(because of a hot water pipe)and they could not fix it while I was living there. I was on the bottom level which was fine for me and my family I have a lot of disabled family members. They told me they were going to move me and put me in another bottom level apartment, which they did not, Instead they move me to a third floor level apartment. When we went to view the apartment you could look at the walls and tell it was some terrible leaks in there, the patch jobs were terrible. Evelyn assured us that there was no history of leaks she only went back to 2004 so what about before then she couldn't tell us that. Because I was tired of taking off work and ready to move I went ahead and took the apartment. MY WORST MISTAKE, I have more problems now then I ever. Almost every window in my apartment leaks when it rains and it's a mold smell coming from the walls. They do not come and fix things when they are supposed to and I have to call corporate or the health department just for them to come out and just look at it.I don't know what happend but they were good when I first moved in. I think the problem is the indiviuals that works in that office now, they seem to not care.I will not be renewing my lease this year and it is a shame that you have to go through this when you pay your rent on time each month. I have never been late the whole 2 years I have been there. You would think they would treat the ones who don't pay their rent on time like garbage. I think Southern Management needs to evaluate their staff and get some people in there who wants to do their job. Then Kent Village will be alright.
