I applied for an apartment in September and I am just being notified of my application status. I was asked to provide necessary documents to help me along this process, which I did do. After my first denial I was asked to provide specific documents to support my application which I did do than I received a phone call telling me that my application was approved and that I needed to come in to proceed with the next step. I came in and completed all of that paper work, which was then denied again by the processing department. Now if any one could please explain to me what is the purpose of a reconsideration of your application if once they approve it on the reconsideration but then they turn around and deny it on the same evaluation that involved the reconsideration process. I was put on hold for 3 months to hear the same thing that was told to me in the being. If you are approved under a reconsideration than why would you then turn around and deny a applicant for the same issue. You all act like these apartments are top flight. I have heard about a shooting that took place in one of your buildings and that you do allow section 8 tenants to reside there. So give or take I will give it until the end of construction that those apartments will be considered GHETTO.

I bet it isnt that hard for the Section 8 people to get in they will be the main ones tearing the place up, as most of them do when they move to decent places...Actually the shooting took place in the Kings Square Apts one street over. They need a gate and some security, because the complex is going to be pretty big with over 400 units hopefully not majority Section 8.

I was told the same thing, but I'm glad because I was just approved to purchase a home.

It is AMAZING that once people get denied for something that they once wanted that they start to criticise it. You didnt think that it was going to be ghetto when you continued to put in your paperwork. I am a resident that is not on Section 8 and I did not have any problems with my application process. I was approved the first time on all steps of the process. The community is a nice one, sorry you wont get to see it. Also, dont believe everything that you hear, there has not been a shooting here either.
I guess you are uninformed because in the state of Maryland it is ILLEGAL to deny section 8 in apartments.

yeah dont deny section 8, only deny those who can afford to pay the rent *inserts rolleyes smiley here*

Response to msaries, yes it is amazing that you are on Section 8 and that you had to be approved, because like you said it is Illegal to deny you an apartment.

THAT COMPLEX IS GHETTO. I KNOW SOMEONE WHO WAS APPROVED BACK IN SEPTEMBER AND THEY KEEP PUSHING HIS MOVE IN DATE BACK. HE IS JUST NOW IN HIS APARTMENT AND IT IS NOW FEB. NOT TO MENTION THINGS ARE NOT PROPERLY FUNCTIONING IN THE APARTMENT AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY BLINDS FOR HIM YET...HOWEVER THEY WANT HIM TO PAY RENT FOR A PLACE HE IS NOT ABLE TO LIVE IN. AS NICE AS IT MAY SEEMS THIS COMPLEX HAS SOME KINKS TO WORK OUT ASAP!!! I DONT THINK IT IS ACTUALLY SECTION 8 BUT IT IS A LOW INCOME COMPLEX BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT MAKE OVER A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF MONEY TO LIVE THERE.

While I think it's important to rent the property and start to recoup the monies spent, it is more important to ensure tenants have the necessities. Blinds are important unless you are a exhibitionist. I realize that all properties have their downfalls, but I wish more satisfied residents would get online and tell their story. I am really search for an apartment and this website has been helpful, unfortunately the people who are the most unhappy tend to voice their opinions. I think the idea of low income is also necessary in this day and time. Everyone can't afford to pay 1,000.00 a month for a one bedroom. Especially when a lot of the one bedrooms are so small and one can outgrow them so quickly. So having said all that, can I get some satisfied tenants to tell there story. If you know one, tell them to log on! Thanks
