Ok, to this I must agree because to be put on a 30k-36k requirement for one person for a two bedroom is ridiculous. I'm at 50k and still hard to think about paying 1200monthly and manage all the other bills so how could someone under 36k pay about 1000monthly and still survive with everything else that has to get paid? Come on peoplet get real. If they are at 30k they can't afford 900 monthly and do regular bills. Where's the cut for single folks that actually make money.

Then the community should not take part in the program or reduce the cost of rent for living on the property. When the managment company saw the limits set by the IRS they knew that someone making 30K would not be able to afford these rents. I think you are setting poor people up to fail!

I don't think that it is right for you to post no in regards to the apartment if you do not live there. People come to this site for information on a community. I personally live in the comnunity and agree that there is a lack of professionalism but there is more to a community than that. I think that you have not looked at rental rates in the PG county area. The rates for a 2bdrm at Overland are the same as the rates for a 1bdrm at Ivy Club.

Dear lovechild73, "Real world"? What is the real world? Over priced homes, income restrictions that cannot be met by hardworking people? Do you think that everyone that receives Section 8 is on TCA and Foodstamps? No actually most people must work to recieve section 8. And are very respectfull people. I know plenty of people who have been on and still on the Section 8 program, and still struggle. One of my closest friends work 2.5 jobs; over 18 hours a day for six days of the week and on sunday she works 6 hours. But because of the high cost of rent she still needs the help. The allowance this program give to people often is not enough to cover the rent that is requested for rentals in PG and AA counties. Are you suggesting that because someone has Section 8 that they should dwell in a bad neighborhood and don't deserve better or any help? Sometimes one should check the facts about a people and programs before putting in an opinion. That way the "ghetto side" of them isn't shown to others as well. It is better to be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt!

If you take a look at the rents in the area lately, poor people couldnt afford to pay them anyway. At least here they are preventing people who make the money and CAN afford to live elsewhere move in and allowing those hardworking people who couldnt afford the higher rents in. Think about it, if you make 60k per year, stop being cheap and pay to live the high class way you want or BUY A HOUSE! Dam you all take this so personal, sounds like you mad cause you couldn't get in...trini, get that credit together along with that attitude, it will take you places...
