I live here and I am ashamed of my neighbors. I went to check my mail and what did I find but a sign saying evictions were in progress pay your rent or hand in your keys. So I wanna know what dumbass moved in and can't pay the rent, no one has been here over a year so there is no excuse. I called the rental office and they said there was a HUGE problem with people not paying rent and bouncing checks. So how dare any of you come on this site and complain about anything when you have the cheapest rent around and can't pay it. But all you see are hummers and bmws in the parking lot. And a word to my female neighbors make them dingy ass dudes you have staying with you pay some rent instead of leaching off you just because the ---- is good and you think he's cute, its time for people to wake up. If you can't afford rent and utilties don't move, don't deck out your apartment and not have any money for the rent. Keep your nappy headed kids in the house and stop them from turning this place into the hood. And if you are gonna smoke your weed do it in the house and crack a window so i don't smell it in the hallway. I agree with the office pay your rent do what you are supposed to do or leave, and as for the office the ghetto folks are gone i like the people in there maintainance can be slow at times but thats about it. respond if you dare.

i give people in Landover a bad name? why because i chose to speak the truth, and in a language that the people would understand. Folks come on here using all these SAT words like it matters some people don't hear you until you come down to there level and bytch them out like i'm doing, now i could have said. Ok guys lets pay our rent and be good citizens but folks would have looked over it and been like and what? No i'm gonna tell it like it is and i'm not gonna sugar coat it just because you can't handle a few 4 letter words that you can catch on any episode of the sopranos. Trust nothing is lackin in my life, i have all i could want and then some thanks to be to God and yeah i did throw him in there because no matter how i talk he knows whats in my heart. And yeah i'm ghetto we all are a little ghetto born and raised but i can hang in the boardroom and give you class just as well as i can chill in the hood. I just think its time people took responsibilty for their own actions.

Bebeu2, forgive me homie, but just hearing you speak has turned me away from wanted to live there. and it's not just how you talk about the other's living there, but in how you just said everything you did. it's people like you i want to get away from man, i mean, while i'm sure you'd probably be a great person to know, you come off as ignorant as the fools you talk about. and i dont believe you know that, so i'm telling you. it's one thing to come across firm, and not sugar coat something. it's a completely different thing to sound ignorant even after being educated WTF.

I appreciate what you originally said bebeu2. That let me know that Overland gardens isn't the place for me. The place looks nice on the outside but, "don't judge a book by its cover." I don't mind living in the presence of low income people. But, would it be too much if they didn't act like it. Who wants to send their kids outside with people smokin' weed in the hallways. i've been around it all of my life (Kentland) and I want a change. Keep it real, but some things are left for the privacy of your homes.

No matter WHERE you go, in this society you are going to have people with the GHETTO mentality. You don't have to be rich and educated to have pride in yourself and the place you live. For the most part we have ALL been taught what is right and wrong...what it means to be dirty and clean. Even if you are getting support from the government, don't THINK you are getting back at "the man" by trashing where you live! If anything you are justifying what they think about us from the jump...despite the milestones we have made as a people...that we are as a people are animals and don't deserve nice surroundings. REGARDLESS of what you do in life, WHY, WHY would you want to be proud of or represent a GHETTO mentality. For the sake of keeping it real? In that case ALL of us should to back acting like slaves...cause that where most of our ancestors come from...so we don't forget where we come from. I thought that we were struggling to get away from that. Given, we fall into hard times, but does that mean that we have to mistreat ourselves and others? Ruining perhaps the only place we have to live? I am by no means above poverty, I am truly struggling, but I do take pride in my humble place while I can and keep it clean the best I can. This mentality is never going to end because too many of us let ourselves fall into this very NEGATIVE sterotype. Stop the vicious cycle for our children...it can be done. This is not just in Overland Gardens but every where. Everytime I walk outside my building, I get depressed, because people JUST DON'T CARE anymore...for themselves never mind for others! Unfortunately, like many of you, I do not have a choice to leave right now. But I wish this pride about being GHETTO will stop! If an alcholic can overcome his/her addiction if the desire is there...many of us can clean up our surroundings and stop this vicious cycle!! The word CAN'T is your greatest enemy...you are already defeated! SAD, just sad. :(

Can anyone tell me how tough they are on people who have credit issues. I plan on moving to Overland in Feb 07 with my best friend. We have good jobs and have been there for over 3 years, both of us will have at lest 2500 a piece when we walk in the door for a down payment just in case. Can anyone who LIVES THERE give me there opinion.
