First I must say that When I first moved to Overland It was so quiet, well kept and everyone That works in the rental office was so nice. I moved there at the end of Dec. 2006 (and I didn't have to pay rent because Monique said that was a early Xmas Present due to the month was almost over, thank u Monique)Things began to turn sour once this chic and her 4 kids moved into the building, don't get me wrong its nothing wrong with having kids, but it's a problem when you let your kids run through the building, eat on the steps and leave your trash there. There was sooo much weed smoking in the hallways which sometimes will make the alarm come on. The lady that lived upstairs from me would let her 3 heavy weight kids run around all morning and night. I use to complain to the rental office about the noise but nothing was done. The people that lived in my building were rude, ignorant, non working individuals. Some people think just because they don't work its okay to tear up where you have to lay your head at. Thank God I no longer live at Overland, I bought a 5 bedroom house (and yes I got my $8,000 first time homebuyer tax credit). By the way always always always keep your receipts because they may just say you didn't pay your rent and you would need to prove to them you paid your rent. Good luck and be blessed!!! Wow that's tough. Look here's a number to call when you're here loud music after hours, children are noisy, and especially if you smell the weed. 301-322-4400 They will send someone out almost immediately. Also make sure you document your problems, seriously the management can not be held accountable if you don't formally complain to them in a letter with copies of your receipt, as well as take it to the management team over their heads. I'm reading the same problems over and over, it's just sad but true, however you and everyone elase can make a difference.

I've lived here since December 2005 and I must say it takes a community for upkeep of any apartment complex. When I hear or see any problems I report them to the office. The only problem is there is this one bunch of 19 and 20 year olds that have never worked since I've lived here. The bldg is #3201 and #3229 where they hang out and live. Also, their friends come from Kentland and hang out with them in these bldgs also. They are up to no good, it is written all over them. They walk thru bldgs looking to terrorize or destroy something. Thank God I have a few good neighbors in my bldg, the only thing is Winn (Overland)are now renting to Africans and they cook the funkiest food that stinks up the entire building. We have to open the entrance doors to air the bldg. Now when I enter the bldg, I can smell roach poison emitting from the ------- apartment. I have never had roaches or rats, and am very clean. But, the Africans and Latinos will most likely be the reason I'll have to leave. I cannot tolerate pests. I am not racist or prejudice, but I call how I see and smell it. Overland it is up to you if you do not want Overland to become Slumland.
