Carleton East is the most affordable apartments in the Lanham/Greenbelt/Seabrook area. They keep the grounds of the apartments and hallways clean daily. It have a ok fitness center and a average pool. The complex have plenty of parking to choice from depending on what apartment of the complex. You normally don't have to walk to far from you car to your apartment. The park lot could have more lighting but it pretty safe. It plenty of police that live in the complex. And when the police come thru they pretty strict about people hanging outside at times. That I know of I only heard one incident about someone getting rob. Every place have there pros and cons. The cons here is that the kitchen isn't bad but can used a little remodeling. The apartments looked the same why it did since 1992 when I first moved there and it did when my ex was there. So it some old things that you need to get replaced or leaking at times. The maintenance do have a slow responds time so you have to be proactive when you need some service. The pros are the apartment have alot of square ft. 2 bed room are 1000 thru 1200 sq ft if i'm correct. You paying less than a dollar a month per sq foot. Now as of 8/7/08 2 bedroom run about 1050 and you pay for your own electric. And it a cat friendly complex and a don't ask for 300 pet deposit like other places. I didn't personally pick this apartment when it was time for me to move into a different place but I would recommend based on my time there in 92 and while my ex was there in 07-08
