In life we all make a few mistakes, living in Forest lake was one of mine. I spent three years there, and did regret ever getting into the complex. I am glad I left. The management is fraudulent to say the least. I believe the contract is a fraud. If you are a day late with your payment, they charge for taking you to court, even though they have not filed any suit, then file a suit days after collecting all the monies from you!! The also have a history of withholding security deposits. The maintenance of the apartment is horrible. The former manager is said to have stabbed a resident and that should give you an idea of the caliber of the complex.
Then again, we had a month of no power or air conditioning during the summer of 2008, without any apologies whatsoever from the management.
The roach problem is unbelievable. A lot of cars were broken into during and they also tow your visitors car regularly.
My advice to anyone who is self respecting is to run, run and never look back.

I totally agree. I am a tenant at forest lake. I notice roaches after a few days of moving in. I did call the office to let them know. I had to take measures on my own to get rid of them. I heard that there was a mouse in another tenant house. From what I know she is a very neat person. I do not like the policy for guest parking, I think that it is just ridiculus. But what I can say is that it is a very quit apt complex, they have a zero tolerance policy for people hanging around the building in which I like. The staff is nice, with the exception of the manager and the older leasing manager. The apt are very spacious which I love. If had to do it all over again I would have to think twice or maybe three times.

I'm going to have to check on the guest pass policy. My family and friends likes to come visit often and I think I should have at least one pass for my guests. As for the roaches, that's something that could be taken care of - by them or myself. Mice on the other hand is a no-no. I have an infant crawling around and that's just not an option. I'm supposed to go and fill out my application today, but I may have to reconsider.

I'm so glad that i did check all of this out. I was going to see about moving in but now i'm not going to waste any of my time and just move on also
