Beautiful and accessible to beltway and DC. I've been here for a few years and use to be a happy resident. Maintenance request are not being honored, management sends out notices such as pest control services the evening of the same day it was supposed to have been done. The main problem that I am having is the amount of young adults loitering throughout our community smoking weed openly while adults and children are coming and going. Many of them do not even live here. The grounds and inside the buildings have gotten extremely horrible. Between the blunts and little green & blue bags in the hallways, laundry rooms, and on the sidewalks, I am ashamed to invite company or family anymore to my home.I am really getting sick of the open air market of dope.I am tired of not being able to enjoy the quietness of my home anymore. I am tired of not being able to go to my mailbox and retrieve my mail due to the hoodlums leaning against the mailboxes and won't move without getting an attitude for disturbing them! (They don't even live here!) They went up on the rent, but for what purposes. There is no security here anymore, the lighting is not operating in the darkest spots on the property, mold is growing in my home regardless of the amount of bleach I use weekly. Glenarden Woods has really gone down hill since the Summer of 2001 and the management company needs to manage it the way it used to be or give the contract to someone else that will.

what you expect the rent is based on your income so you have low income section 8 people live there and dont care

This should not matter , you pay rent just like everybody else a you deserve to live in a distant place without all this nonsense.

That is so true, whether rich or poor its all about how you carry yourself. P.G. county is an expensive place to live, even the ghetto's the rent goes over $700 a month. If the section 8 people could make the same income down south as they make up here then they wouldn't need section 8!

As long as there are no locks on the doors, we will always have outsiders loitering in the halls. If management won't do anything, then we should. If we allow them to sit around and smoke and do whatever they wish in our halls, then they will. Most of the people that are loitering are teenagers, and if they wont leave when you tell them to, call the police. Whether a person is on section 8 has nothing to do with it. It's the lack of security. I'm either chasing the loiterers or roaches, and I don't like either one. You have to remember that these buildings are not controlled access so Glenarden Woods Apartments is the "Spot", or "Hang-out".
