My sister is supposed to be moving here in May. I lived here many years ago and have since bought a home. I know about the balcony's and windows and upgrades indoors (cabinets etc.) and plans for the outside. I would like to know what you think of the new management company. Is it a day late for them to be fixing it up and your just fed up' Or are they no good as well' I saw a model of what the outside of the buildings will soon look like. In fact, it's two buildings up from your building. Do you have the new cabinets and appliances' Would you be getting them since they are upgrading. Are you moving to another apartment' If so, which one' I'm asking all of these questions because I can sway her decision to move there if necessary. I found your comments to be honest and not OVERLY exaggerated. I think your doing right thing by moving especially if your not happy. I've found that a lot people that make comments to this site (all of the apartments not just Countryside) complain and ----- so bad and STILL live there. I still believe what I said about basing your decision SOLEY on what you read in the site (Apartment Ratings) out of 400 approx units you have ten people that are complaining. To me one persons experience isn't everybody's experience. But somethings like rodents, roaches etc. should be taken into account. It's an old wives tale the lady bugs bring peace and luck (but I still don't like them). Roaches and mice I have not and will not live with however, she was told that they have begun exterminating.

I don't know what has happened since 2006-2007 when I lived there but, it was one of the worst apartment complexes I havwe ever lived in. I have lived quite a few places within a 30 mile radius of Prince George's County and the District, quite frankly Trenton Place SE was a better place to live than Good Luck Road. I had issues from day 1 moving in, I was shown and given one address that I was moving into, then on move in day when I went to retrieve my keys there had been a change, they relocated me to a whole nother building. I paid my rent on time every month even, early some months so I am not one of those, I was not a noisy tenant and tried very much to respect my neighbors that lived below with regards to that. My neighbors smoked weed everyday so after a hard days work I was greated by probably getting a contact from the smoke filled hallways alomg with my two children, I had a leak in the apartment when it rained that consumed a large portion of the dining room area, windowsill and carpet & pad filled with mold, very unsafe for children, elderly and pregnant women it was never repaired, I had mice..they will never get rid of I'm sure, the apartment looked great on the inside with all the appliances and the remodeling, but they did nothing to the structure to rid it of all the rodents living there that didn't pay rent. They need to tear them down and build from the groud up. Don't bother to call the rental office for any type of repairs I'm still waiting from 2 years ago, don't get hung up in the 1 year rent specials, after that I goes up tremendously...I went from $1100 to $1575 after my year lease was over. I do have one thing to thank them for, had I never experienced living under such conditions I would have probably still been renting somewhere, it made me really get off my ass I couldn't do anything about living there but,I could change my situation I am now a proud homeowner The parking situation nobody respected your vehicle, I can't tell you how many dents I had on my doors from people just being careless and having no respect for other's property, someone even had the nerve to hit my truck knock out my taillight. Last but not least when the loan officer contacted contryside to verify my rental history for the loan they said they had no record of me and I never lived there...more drama..poor management. Good Luck to you but, I wouldn't live there if they offered me a unit for free.

My comments are as follows...I have said it three times before and I have problem repeating myself if it means I can help another family stay the HELL away from Countryside. If reviewers are making these negative comments to inform others (and there are a LOT of negative comments) that should tell you that there is a problem BIG TIME!!! DO NOT try to undermine those who are having major issues with this complex and management. I was one of those who used to live at this complex and when I initially moved in, I had no problem with rodents, roaches or rent. The only issue I had was the noise from the thin ass walls/floor and when the opportunity came, I moved up a floor and with that, ---- popped off!!! I complained to management, this website, and the property owners and had to accept that I had to make the best of a very bad situation. When you work hard to make a living then have others undermine your living situation and question what is going on, it makes it that much harder for others to hear what you have to say. If living was THAT GOOD at COUNTRYDSIDE, tell me why you have more negative than positive comments. If you are TRULY not a tenant or part of management for Countryside, HOW THE PHUCKIN HELL CAN YOU SPEAK ON OR KNOW FIRST HAND, what goes on over there and whether individuals are speaking truthfully or not !!!! My words are honest and clear advice. I have had it both good and bad and I have no problem speaking on both the good and bad. I do not know if you are part of "management" or not and I could really care less. You, on the other hand may have lived in the area all your life and maybe accustomed to living with rodents and roaches and paying rent only to have management tell you otherwise because of their bad record keeping and think that ALL THAT ---- is acceptable, but as long as you have not lived in Countryside, visited for MORE THAN 1 DAY at Countryside or walked into one of the complainants apartments to see for yourself the complaint, shut the PHUCK up with your "KEEP OUT THE NEGATIVE, THE TROUBLE MAKERS AND THE N***A'S. DO NOT LOOK TO THESE WEBSITES FOR CLEAR, HONEST ADVICE." You think I am exaggerating or talking ---- about my place, holla at me, I GOT PICTURES SHOWING HOW HAD 10 MICE TRAPS AND CAUGHT MORE ROACHES THAN MICE (that ----- was behind the wall of my closet scratching for two months and management was telling me it was a bird or squirrel, finally he made himself known and got caught on one trap...mind you I was on the third floor)I GOT SOUND RECORDING OF THE MOUSE THAT WAS SCRATCHING INSIDE MY WALL, I GOT NOTES ABOUT WHAT THEY CLAIMED THEY FIXED !!!) I paid my rent on the 1st of the month ALL OF MY TWO YEARS at Countryside and never once had them tell me other wise other than when I moved out and they claimed I did not pay. Like I said, I KEEP EVERYTHING and showed Lisa the letter she wrote me in regards to me paying the last month???s rent...shut her ass up real quick. You can voice your positive comments on a hold but as far as me and mine, DO NOT EVER UNDERMINE WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT MY LIVING ARRANGEMENTS IF YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE NOR KNOW WHAT I HAVE BEEN THROUGH. I totally agree with all of this. Please do not move here I lived her from October 2001 - June 2002 (I broke my lease). I NEVER FELT SAFE every when I was home. During the winter months, my heat never worked, there was a rodent problem, it got so bad that I stopped cooking because I did not want to attract them, and last but not least.....The number of men that hang around that complex doing nothing all day, but watch you........knocking on your door at night, or standing in the hallway and staring as you walk past.

This is the deal. I'm already fed up with them, but personally the new management so far is no better. The same people still work in the rental office, so you're still dealing with the same non-chalant attitudes. I've had more problems with my water temperatures since the new management came in. But I always had problems with the water, it's just that it increased when they came along. I had the new cabinets and appliances. The cabinets are cool. Plenty of space. The appliances are so-so. I hate the washing machine because you have to plug it up to a sink, and It doesn't hold much, but it did come in handy sometimes. I'm actually moving to Laurel, Montpelier Crossing. They have some bad ratings on them too, however most of them are old and come from 2006 or before. They actually remodeled them since then, and there are more yes' then no's that have dates of 2007 to the present. And you're right, alot of times you can't go by what people say on these things because it may belong to the small few who weren't doing right in the first place. But in this case, most of these people are right. This place is horrible. I have actually grown to hate it, and can't wait until March 15th when I move. And you shouldn't base it soley, however dates, and the amount of no's vs. yes's can be a big part of it. I loved the Lady bugs at first but when it became 30 and 40 of them flying around my bedroom, it became a little creepy and much. They never did any thing about that either, so they became apart of the family. And let them tell it they are alway exterminating. That doesn't mean s**t. They come once a month, but as I said before roaches and mice weren't my problem. It was the quality. And if I'm going to pay 1341 on time every month, faithfully, then I expect quality. I only had a two bedroom, and it was overpriced. They are doing a lot of renovations but they are only cosmetic, and have no real substance. They just make the drive by view of the apartments more appealing to the eye and that's it. Remember, beauty is skin deep, and ugly is to the bone, and that is the best way to describe these apartments. Like I said before, I wouln't do it, including if she has kids. If I was alone, I could probably tolerate it a little more (because no matter where you move, there are going to be problems). I just needes something better for me and my kids. Tell your sister good luck on her search, and I hope that it doesn't end here with Countryside, because I guarantee she will come to regret it before she moves away. One more thing. Make sure you ask the leasing Agent if they live there. Watch the excuses they come up with for not living there along with their facial expressions. Come on. How many complexes do you know where none of the agents live in the complex. I wonder......

Well i have lived in countryside since 2006 and i continue to live there. But by all means i plan to move out as soon as possible. I'd say that regardless of the new management the community has not changed. The customer services sucks, and they still have rodents. i've had 3 seperate incidents over the past month with mice. Then they're telling me that it can't be fixed overnight and they've already sent out two exterminators. One of which told me that i had nothing to worry about, then a week later i see the biggest mouse yet. I'm done, i'm actually speaking with an attorney to see what my options are for breaking my lease. It's disgusting... please tell your sister do not do it to herself. There are great apartments around the area, don't settle for a mouse infested ghetto.
