SLUMLORDS FROM HELL!

Anyone who has a good review of Countryside works in the rental office or is part of maintenance period!

Let me break it down for you:

Rental office: They have more turnover than I care to mention and everyone who they employ is unprofessional, rude, and nasty. The ONLY decent person in the office is Sean.

Parking: A nightmare! I have to park almost on the other side of my building just to get a space. It is ridiculous.

Maintenance: Ok, but not the greatest. What is worse are the dirty, rude, nasty contractors they hire. They get them from the jail relocation program. They have no manners and come in your apartment as if they own the place.

Rent: SKY HIGH FOR THIS DUMP! They are increasing rent every year AND making tenants pay utilities! The rent was already exorbatant for this ghetto, but now utilities!'

Critters: The roaches don't even wait until you turn the light on. Our apartment is NOT dirty or cluttered. They will sashay out while you're cooking, washing, eating. Countryside does NOT exterminate on a regular basis - only by request, which is asinine!
I don't see rats anymore since we got the sensors, but I know they are still around. My brother hears them in the wall at night. IT IS NASTY! I have never seen an Orkin man around Countryside.

The Grounds: Dirty. They call themselves renovating the outside with stuccato and other unnecessary design, but they still are and look like the same ole' raggedy apartments. Shambles! There is NO playground for kids to enjoy. The pool barely opens during the summer.

Countryside (they even tried to change the name to get some esteem from the Glen Dale homes further down the street. NOT!) is the worse in this area!

I lived in New Carrollton before this and my apartment was EXTRA clean. The building was secure, clean, people didn't hang out, the rental office didn't harass or hassle or bully you into letting maintenance or these rude contractors in your home.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND HELLSIDE!!!

I have lived at Countryside for three years now and this is total exaggeration. They just went through a managment change so thats why the turnover rate was so high. parking isn't that bad, some nights are worse then others but I have NEVER had to walk across the parking lot to get to my apartment. Rent is pretty low, maybe we just got a great deal but it does go up each year but everywhere i have ever lived has done that. I have NEVER EVER had roaches OR mice in my apartment. It's all about how clean you keep your home. Certian people are more prone to certian bugs... I personally like the people in the office. They have always been nice to me. I guess the nicer you treat them the nicer they'll treat you. I just got a letter to renew my lease, and I plan on doing so. I'm not moving out of here for a long time. I would tell anyone what a great place to live this is.

I agree with you I don't have all these problems my only complaint is with the water. But now that I read these complaints I am constantly looking around my place to see if there is any sign of rodents but I don't see any. I contacted the rental office to find out if I was able to contract my own exterminator but they said no because that would interfere with their exterminating company layout. But I might just go ahead and call a company just so they can come out to see if there is any sign of rodents in my unit I don't like surprises and plus their company will lie just to protect Glendale from embarrassment.

YOU ARE A LIE!!! THEY HAVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS AND MORE!!

This is not a lie. We've moved to two apartments on the premises and the problems have carried over. Now that they are "renovating" it has gotten worse. The posts commending Countryside (changing the name doesn't do anything about the poor resident management and upkeep) are from the rental office or someone being paid to commend them. I do not exagerrate. I tell it like it is. I have nothing to gain or lose by telling the truth.

I currently live at Glendale apartments and will be moving out on May 1st because of the exact reasons given by renterchick05 about the rodents and roaches and various other types of bugs I have never seen in my life. The respondent who said they have never encountered a problem is very lucky. I wish I lived where you do. The other respondent who is having an exterminator come in to check their unit is also lucky. Glendale is charging people $1600 to $1700 dollars to live in this dump and it's ridiculous. I refuse to pay them another cent to live here. I have told everyone I know and a few people I have seen going towards the rental office to inquire about renting here not to. I have reported this property to the Health Department and the County Housing Inspector. The information is on the web.

I would like to know what building the person not having rodent issues staying so I can request to be transferred to a unit there until my lease is up.
