10/31/2006 - PLEASE take your own pictures when you move in and when you move out. They will steal your security deposit. That's what they did to me. They charged me 185.76 for a counter top. I had to go into the office to get answers because I did nothing to the counter top. It took them 15 minutes to come up with a digital disk of some very grainy pictures of what they say was my counter top with chop marks. I had 4 glass cutting boards. I have been cooking for many years. So, there was no way I cut up the counter top. I asked to see the accual counter top. Yep, you guessed it, it had been discarded. I asked could we see the new one. Nope can't do that the apartment has been rented. I have always gotten my full security deposit back from any apartment I ever rented. I could not believe this. I wrote a letter and faxed it and mailed it to the corporate office at southern managament and they did not even respond. I was robbed. I was a good tenent for the year that I rented from them. I cleaned the apartment before leaving. I was also given an all clear at the pre move out inspection. I will never rent another southern management property again!
