Summit Largo Apts has been a big disappointment to my wife and I. We've been here about 2 years. The overall appearance and condition of the apartments is pretty good but the biggest problem lies with the management. We've have seen at least 3-4 property managers in 2 years. They seem to change almost every six months. Getting repairs done is pain. It often takes multiple calls to get things done and the staff does a very poor job of getting back to you on problems. I've made repeat calls on past problems only to find out there was no record of my initial work order. We also have problems with a security gate that is broken more often than not. On occasion it has even locked me in or out of the complex. Another problem is with the "business center" which boast of fax and internet capabilites but never seems to work. Crime is also increasing in the complex (break-ins, car theft, etc) but I dont see any proactive measures being taken by the management. One plus for the security is that each apartment has an alarm system which I've never had any problem with and seems to be very reliable. As for the people I would say the majority are quiet working people. As always there are a few bad apples but nothing excessive.
Other things that I wish I had known is that the lease does not allow you grill on your patio area and if your car tags expire they will tow your car from the apartment lot even if it drives fine and is registered with the apt.
Overall, I would say the Summit is fine to live in IF all you had to do was pay rent, everything worked fine, and you never dealt with mgt. However, the reality is that things happen and unfortunately the mgt and maintenance service is very poor.
