Nice Apartment, Poor Management

My apartment was nice. I rarely heard any noise from the neighbors. The main problems I had were dealing with the rental office and the bad children who live in the community.
Anytime I needed to call the office to ask questions about maintenance requests, to ask questions, etc., I'd say 9 times out of 10, no one would answer the phone. I could call every hour on the hour and they wouldn't pick up. Placing a service request online was a waste of time too. It took me about 3 weeks to get someone to come replace my garbage disposal -- and that was after daily badgering from me. In general the people who work at the office will duck and dodge you all day if you have a problem. They are horrible at doing what they say they will do and only act like they have some sense when you confront them in person (which can be hard to do if you work during the day). I give the management office an F.
Then there was the drama with my rent increase. As I approached the end of my lease the first year, I called the rental office daily asking for my renewal information and what my increase would be. Now why did I have to harass these people for this information' They are supposed to give it to you 30-60 days before the end of your lease. I finally got it one week before the end of my lease and the rent was raised over $300!!!! Of course, I went to management a couple of days in person to complain about this. At this late date, I was backed into a corner. I tried to contact coporate headquarters, but they make it impossible to reach a real live person. Overall, dealing with the rental office is the biggest headache you ever want to deal with.
And then there are the kids. Because the community has no playground, the kids use the parking lots as their playground. They play football, basketball, etc. right up on people's cars. I once asked them not to hit my car with their football again, and they decided to start throwing rocks at it. When I approached one of the parents about it she acted like she cared and said her son would be on punishment...I saw his fat ass out there the very next day being bad as usual. I often wondered why with the rent as high as it is, they couldn't get someone to work security in this complex. It is definitely needed after hours when the rental office is closed.
Basically, if you are an adult who doesn't want to deal with headaches at home after working all day, I suggest you live elsewhere. It just isn't worth the hassle.
