not worth the money!

To start with something good. most of the maintainence staff is very good (they have to be because there is a lot wrong here) once they get around to your orders (in their huge stack). they are very helpful and will take care of more problems than the work order they have (for some reason they don't receive them all).
Make sure you look at the apartment BEFORE signing anything. Don't let them give you the run around. "it's not ready to be seen". Aparently really means, "it's not ready to be moved in, but we want your money now anyway". There were so many things wrong with our apartment that I took pictures! A whole disposable camera full. We had a time constraint and ended up signing before seeing which i will NEVER do again. Also, our sales rep lied to us about some things, like the office does NOT accept packages.
When we moved in there was mold in the dryer lint trap which they never came to replace. i just had to bleach it and hope for the best.
the 2 bedroom apartment has only 1.75 bathrooms (only a shower in one) and while the second bedroom is a decent size if you have a full size or smaller bed and only one dresser, the closet is not adequate for any whole person to keep clothes in there. I have baby cousins who have more closet space and fill it. they try to make it look like a walk in closet, but it is just set back about 6 inches which makes it hard to see in there because there is no light.
My friend's car was stolen out of the parking lot and we had to go find it on our own (this is more of a police issue) we found it in southeast DC, so if your car is stolen, calling PGC police won't help (they didn't even come take a report)! and they didn't even do a report at the office either. No need to call DC police either, they were too busy to go around the corner with us when we found it with the perpertraters inside! The sales reps don't tell you to get a club and an alarm for your car when you come to visit the property!
The air conditioners keep breaking and not working correctly. the guy they send to fix it, just tells you to turn it down some more. I was in the office and a lady came in complaining that this was the third year in a row her air conditioner was broken for darn near a month and they weren't doing anything about it. (I have no clue why she continues to live here!)
Everyone pays for the use of the pool, which has a lifeguard, is open only from 12pm-8pm, and is overrun with children the whole time (since their parents don't actually have to be there). There is no time for a working adult (the people who are actually paying) to use the pool before or after work, or without getting their head jumped on by someone's wild kid.
the stairwells are outside and i've actually come home in the early AM hours after work to find all the outside lighting out! Talk about a safety issue!
I can hear the people around me walking around, vacuuming, blasting music, fighting, screaming...
They also have bug problems every year and must call an exterminator... at least in the older buildings, i don't know about the newer ones, but i do know that the items in the new ones are very cheap (as in easy to break) the new apartments are about 300-400 more than the older ones, i don't think it's worth it.
Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone. I am trying to figure out how to move before my lease is up. You could live with the same problems a lot cheaper! These problems are a result of the greedy equity residential rental company so i doubt their other properties are much better.
