Okay, I had all intentions on giving an unbiased good review for my new apartment after moving in. I fell in love with the complex location wise, and it seemed like a nice place to live. However, I am sorely dissatified with my unit, and appalled at the level of service provided to me as a new resident. I JUST moved in less than a month ago, and I have had to call the leasing office & maintenance dept numerous times, with no response!! I don't have pics, but my kichen and bathroom are horrible. I'll try to keep it brief, but here are a few things that are wrong with the apartment:

1) The cabinet over the sink is falling off the wall (yes FALLING!!)
2) The faucet is not secure (the whole thing moves when I turn the hot/cold water)
3) The paneling on the countertop is peeling. (One coutertop siding is being held up with a nail!)
4) The dishwasher does not work
5) The toilet constantly runs (and they want tenants to pay for water''!)
6) The ceiling squeaks when my upstairs neighbors walk across the floor.
7) Patch work is unsightly and unprofessional
8) Air seeps through the all the windows and bedroom floor (didn't know that was possible...)

Bottom line' Find somewhere else to invest your hard earned dollars. I would honestly break my lease if it wouldn't affect my credit. If you're still considering moving to Northampton, MAKE SURE you thoroughly inspect the specific unit they have for you BEFORE moving in and signing a lease.

I too moved in just under a month ago and had a laundry list of problems with my unit. I went to the office with my move-in check-list followed up by a telephone call. Most of my problems have been fixed with the exception of the squeeky floors (yes, they are terrible!) my neighbor under me must have to deal with. My suggestion.... send your complaints in again on line through the Equity website portal for residents. And FYI...you do have the right to move out within your first 30 days without it ruining or affecting your credit. It's in your lease agreement. I also have a terrible roach problem. I have had Orkin in twice and one other company I paid for myself plus I spray almost every day. I'm told by the office staff they have not ever had any complaints about roaches but when I spoke with my neighbor next door and below me, they have all complained. Believe me, had I known...I wouldn't be here and if I had the money, time, and manpower to get me out of here, I would be gone before my 30 days are up too. My windows and glass door also leak cold air which I'll seal myself this weekend because it's my money I have to pay out for power bills and they aren't going to change out the windows. Good luck....it's a nightmare for sure.
