Don't judge a book by its cover

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2004
At first glance Steeplechase may appear to be a very pleasant place to live but once you move there you will find things to be very different. I've lived there going on 4 years and in the beginning had no problems with the apartments. But there is a constant revolving door with the office staff and the quality of customer service has continued to go down. When I've had to make a maintenance request, it takes a minimum of 3 requests for the staff to respond. This may be a week or more. The office staff barely acknowledges you when you walk in, and I've had times where I requested things of them and they've ignored my request for days. Living in an apartment there will be times that your neighbors will make noise but I've tried to complain on 2 separate occasions and the office told me that it's not their problem and they prefer for the tenants to handle it themselves. When we had a snowstorm last December, I had to call and complain because they failed to shovel the sidewalks, nor did they treat them with any salt or sand. My neighbor slipped trying to get into her building. In addition, the staff doesn't bother to give proper notification for various matters, the paperwork is filled out incorrectly and you generally feel as if you are being harassed. I'm in my last months of my lease and I'm looking forward to moving. I would not recommend this property unless they've had a complete overhaul of the office staff, especially the community manager.
