Steeplechase Apartments

Pretty on the outside...HORRIBLE on the inside From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 1/31/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   When I moved here 4 years ago, I thought Steeplechase was the prettiest apt. complex that I had seen. And it was...the grounds were well maintained, no kids running around, no riff raff hanging outside. But DON'T let it fool you. This place is the pits. The management here is the absolute WORST. They do not respond to maintenace requests or any other request that you make of them. I had an incident where I paid my rent by check, they cleared the check, and then tried to take me to court because they said that I didn't pay. Turns out...they had credited the check to another tenant!!!!!! When you walk into the office, the COMMUNITY MANAGER ignores you, they sit in there talking on personal phone calls, and roll their eyes when people come in with questions. Any time that there is any snow fall, I have yet to see them place salt and sand promptly down on the sidewalks. We had a problem last year where they did not even shovel the sidewalks. Bottom line...it looks nice from the outside but to pay as much rent as I have to pay here, I expect better service. I plan to move AS SOON AS my lease is up this year.
