I'm not sorry we rented here -- Bowling Brook isn't anything great, but in this area it was the most space for the least money AND had a washer/dryer in the apartment.
There are a few negatives, though:
1) Buildings are not particularly well maintained. The carpet is old and badly stained, so no matter how well you have your place cleaned up it always looks a little grungy. We have had severe maintenance problems that they took WEEKS to complete fixing.
2) You are not allowed to turn in your rent check in person and get a receipt -- you HAVE to mail it in to a distant location. We have not had any problems with their claiming we didn't pay, but the situation makes me nervous (especially since the staff is a mixed bag in terms of competence).
3)The fitness center is officially open limited hours and is in actuality not even open during those posted hours, especially on weekends. I guess the person with center-unlocking duty only shows up when he feels like it' If year-round exercise is important to you don't count on the fitness center here, since it may or may not be open when they say it will -- get a gym membership.
Still, I would say this is the best in the area for the price range. So if you have to be here and can't buy, you may not be able to do much better than Bowling Brook.
